7TH SEA Sold To John Wick

I understand what you mean (I'm not Spanish myself, but 6 of my 8 great-grandparents were born in Asturias, Catalunya and the Basque Country). I do like Castilla in general (most of my 7th Sea games take place in Castilla, Montaigne and Vodacce), but I always change it up, since I feel it has...

7TH SEA Sold To John Wick

7th Sea is, after D&D, my favourite RPG of all time, one that I play whenever I have the chance. This development makes me a very, very happy man.

D&D 5E (2014) Literacy and Languages in your game

I handle languages differently depending on the needs of the campaign. Sometimes, everyone speaks Common, such as when the campaign is meant to happen inside a single city/region and is very focused (unless it's purposely meant to be a cosmopolitan place). Other times, I go full detailed, with...

Mike Schley's MASSIVE Forgotten Realms Map From SCAG!

As we say around here, "Reflautas!". That's a very nice piece of work.

    Is Pathfinder basically a "cloned" D&D 3.0/3.5?

They did with the OGL precisely what the OGL was intended to do, and in the process gave all those of us who didn't like 4e stable and high-quality support for a game they clearly loved and respected. There was never any sneakiness involved; it was certainly a complicated situation from a...

    D&D 5E (2014) (1) Human v. (2) Half-Orc

Can't have Half-Orcs without half a Human to begin with. So Human.

    D&D 5E (2014) (1) Halfling v. (2) Gnome

There's gnome way Halfings can win this.

    D&D 5E (2014) (1) Dwarf v. (2) Half-Elf

In Castilian dwarfs are usually more like either really angry Spanish pirates or moderately angry Russians. Elves are pansies in any language, though.

    D&D 5E (2014) Race Brackets (2) Half-Elf v. (3) Tiefling

If anyone's fecund, that has to be humans! Fantasy human DNA must be like The Thing.

    D&D 5E (2014) Race Brackets (2) Half-Elf v. (3) Tiefling

Half-Elves are a stapple of the game, but tieflings, if done in the Planescape style, are more interesting.

    D&D 5E (2014) Race Brackets (2) Half-Orc v. (3) Aasimar

Can't have D&D without half-orcs. Someone's parents have to pillage the village, after all.

    D&D 5E (2014) Race Brackets (2) Gnome v. (3) Dragonborn

My first character ever was a Gnome Illusionist. While including draconians under Dragonborn in 5e was a nice move, I have to go with the wee lads.

D&D 5E (2014) What classes do you want added to 5e?

I've always enjoyed engineer-themed character, but more on the Dragonlance Tinker Gnome's style than magical contraptions; I didn't particularly like the Artificer from Eberron or the Alchemist from Pathfinder. I'd enjoy a Tinkerer class very much.

D&D 5E (2014) Miniatures, or Theater of the Mind

We use Theatre of the Mind. We tried to play with minis once, but somehow it made things more complicated. We do play the occasional skirmish with the D&D miniature rules sometimes, but never use them for roleplaying.

    D&D 5E (2014) I don't want to homebrew anymore...

What about switching to radically different ideas? Whenever I'm feeling creatively stuck, I try writing another setting, or material that belongs to a genre that differs from what I was doing before. If today you're stuck with high fantasy, maybe try coming up with an idea for an Age of...

How many people do you know who haven't switched to 5e, and why haven't they?

Among the people I know, most of those of us who played Pathfinder moved onto 5e, while several of those who went to 4e are sticking to it for the time being, apparently because they prefer the more tactical approach. Even some friends who never made the jump beyond AD&D 2e have switched to 5e...

What's The Deal With D&D Translations?

What's The Deal With D&D Translations?

I think you are overstating the issue of translation consistency in Castilian. Yes, there are instances of different terms used, such as how they have "Dragones y Mazmorras" in the Peninsula and we have "Calabozos y Dragones" here in Latin America. But for the most part, this has rarely proven...

    Tales from the Infinite Staircase?

Maybe they meet a false lillend; perhaps an enterprising devil has created a fake entrance to the Infinite Staircase that looks like part of the whole thing -but really is just a fancy pocket dimension you walk through to get to the actual stair-, and now he's imparting purposely misleading...

What's The Deal With D&D Translations?

Signed. I have the luck of being able to use the English manuals, but I've stumbled upon a lot of people that cannot. 5e is a fantastic edition, by far my favourite; it's profoundly sad that some players are being left out because of lack of translations. The phrase "I can't switch from...
