    Unearthed Arcana: Combat Velocity

As one of the first people here to rag on Wizards usually, I can't say I am disappointed by the article even if it wasn't anything new to me. For a lot of DMs, I imagine this information might actually be kind of novel and at least provide some ideas to go forward with. I would have loved some...

    Monster Vault: Mages of Saruun

Neither does reprinting monsters with minor alterations like Vestapulk and Hurly Burly brothers to occupy 3 pages of a book. When those three pages could be used for much needed epic monsters - which allows for the wide exploration of a lot of different mechanics (and has very little "crowding"...

Mordenkainens Magnificent Emporium saved by last minute adventurers?

Yeah that's probably true, but even so the base rules can probably be used for ideas at least.

    Monster Vault: Mages of Saruun

I entirely disagree with your logic. Monster Vaults ARE replacements for Monster Manuals (this is indisputable to me) and SHOULD support all three tiers. I have no problem with something like Gloomwrought that doesn't have an epic focus providing monsters only in the paragon tier - that is...

Mordenkainens Magnificent Emporium saved by last minute adventurers?

It's not this, it's the fact the exact same item that benefits everyone else - Iron Armbands of Power - is uncommon. Given that essentials classes can spam out of turn attacks just as well with a warlord (or any other enabling based leader), opportunity attacks and get the most out of charging...

    Monster Vault: Mages of Saruun

This logic fails for the simple reason that this is a replacement for Monster Manuals. Especially because the generic Monster Vault did not include hardly any epic tier monsters (13 in fact). So I am not sympathetic to Wizards deliberately cutting their own nose off to spite themselves, by...

    Elemental Hero' Handbook

I'm trying to figure out why Amazon seems to know so much about a book coming out next year, yet comparatively little about one coming out this year. On thinking about it, I do think that information just seems rather inaccurate. Three builds also isn't a lot of space in the book, even with an...

    Dragon #400

The Warlock is not a CC article, it's general errata and that's probably why.

    Dragon #400

Sadly, it's nothing to do with epic tier support and in fact is Epic Campain. It's a comic they are running on the site. The concept sounds funny though.

    Monster Vault: Mages of Saruun

We'll just have to settle for hugging it out then

    Elemental Hero' Handbook

This would annoy me beyond belief. From looking them up, sadly it looks like more Cleric and Wizards. Elementalist could be a Mage/Sorcerer. I would hope for a Sorcerer myself. Shugenja seem to be oriental themed Clerics, so possibly a Warpriest build? It is a divine class, but it doesn't seem...

    Dragon #400

The Tarrasque, like most high level MM solos is worthless. Too little damage, hardly any significant actions, no resistance to status effects, is a big bag of HP/defenses and is a brute (so has laughable attack bonuses). Also throw on crappy power design and you have one very sad little solo. I...

    Dragon #400

I really hope they keep the monster updates coming. Wights and Ghosts would be a good place to start with. I'd love to see them make Abominations non-crap, starting with the Tarrasque while they are at it.

Mordenkainens Magnificent Emporium saved by last minute adventurers?

Remember that it's always easy to scale BACK mechanics that already exist, instead of making something from nowhere. I particularly like the Sword that Should never be Drawn myself. That one is just amazing flavor wise. This months dragon is doing that it seems.

    Email Recaps-Good or bad idea?

I write up what happens in my games in this thread at the end of every session - though I am pretty far behind right now. Other than recapping, I also like to publish stat blocks of interesting monsters I made and explain my design goals for special encounters/adventure. This is partly for other...

    Monster Vault: Mages of Saruun

I have to admit I have the same thing when I'm designing monsters. I can do an awesome dragon, giant spider or whatever else, but making coherent human opponents interesting can be harder. So I can certainly appreciate the challenge you had here! It's not like I actively dislike these monsters...

    Elemental Hero' Handbook

Definitely sounds like they will be builds of existing classes and not new ones. At the same time I don't see "Here is YAFW" in there, so I am actually optimistic. The world of DnD is being turned asunder now!

    Dragon #400

Welcome back Dungeon and Dragon. You've been missed. I am especially excited if the update articles are going to become a regular thing. It would be great if they started on Metallic Dragons.

Mordenkainens Magnificent Emporium saved by last minute adventurers?

I actually used one of the items from the Fourthcore Armory, albeit modified, with the Cloak of the Winter Witch. I kind of hope that Wizards looks at that. While mechanically I don't think many of them work well in a standard 4E campaign the inspiration and concept is there (which isn't there...

Mordenkainens Magnificent Emporium saved by last minute adventurers?

Yeah I'm really looking forward to the product, not just because it will hopefully fix the current item system but because rares have so much design potential. I'd love to have some good interesting rares to hand to players.
