    Celestial Lords

Lets see, just a name?... Altheos, The Innocent One, The Child of Peace, The Bright Beginning(NG) (Children, Youth, Fire, Peace, Innocence, Playfulness) A embodiment of eternal youth, innocence and goodness, playful as a new born lamb and as peaceful as the sunrise but holding within the force...

    This is a Troll [meta-thread]

I realise the conversation has moved on since my last posting in the thread and thus feel left out. In frustration at having lost the opportunity to argue with people I start an argument randomly choosing a poster that seems more active than the others. I then state that their point of view is...

    This is a Troll [meta-thread]

Arken reads all posts so far so as not to look stupid in anyway when posting his final point. Then agrees with the concept of free speech but inexplicabely says that the concept has no application on these particular boards. Makes a point taht he is digressing and that he will now come on topic...

Attn everyone: Fantasy world arms race experiment!

Just throwing things in the pot as it were. Could the plains people use their nets (from fishing) for anything that people can think of?

Attn everyone: Fantasy world arms race experiment!

Lets see we ahve to start somewhere, the basics perhaps? Hills People: The people build fires at the mouth of any cave they are inhabiting. This serves to guard against animals but also might deter the plains folk that have no knowledge of fire. A shaman of the tribe can watch the fire and use...

D&D conversation in the style of... [game]

*strangely translated title music starts* Like a cherry blossom petal you fade away... But I still feel your love, love power... Like a sword blade, soft but deadly in the clouds... We still carry on, gotta catch them all, together... Champions of the digital world... *title music ends* *recap...

help with 13 icons of evil

I agree with Katerac, whilst themes are nice they can lead you away from really nice ideas sometimes. The list seems like just the right collection of archetypes too. Some others to consider perhaps... On the idea of the whore and the prince, it might be an idea to push them together into one...

    [OT] Favorite Books/Novels.

Bear in mind I'm only 17 so I haven't read all that so I might miss some stuff that I'll respect hugely later in life or after being through University (I just got replies from the universities I applied to to study english :)). Also I'm doing this quickly so I'm sure to miss something ;)...

Forgotten Realms + Call of Cthulhu = Fun

Sounds like a great campaign already :) It could be important to consider jsut how far reaching the effects are going to be, not only from the collapse of magic, it will actually seem to the PCs that the world is falling apart. One thing that you might think about is the sheer importance of...

    Best and Worst Settings?

Best Setting: Planescape is my favourite by far, it's inspiring and you can jsut take the idea and run with it...Like a bit of ravenloft? put it on the planes and you get evil with philosophy. Like a bit of Dark sun?...put it on the planes and you get a whole moral dimention to destroying...

So, Claudio, what do you store YOUR paper counters in? (Not just for Claudio)

I haven't seen these so this may not be appropriate but if the counters are small a very easy way to store them that I found for some counters I use is plastic sheets of collectible card holders. They come in big sheets with maybe 9 compartments for cards and can be put in a binder. Hope this...

Dumb tactics you used as a DM

I once played in a rather hack heavy game which featured a gnome mage churning out golems in an evil stronghold (this was at low levels, maybe 3-4). In any case rather unfortunately for the Dm (he was quite new) when we entered into the stronghold the Gnome confronted us and was indignant about...

    The Death of Eliminster

Echoing what nameless said about quick ressurection. In 2E I seem to remember he actually had spme form of advanced cntingency spell that entailed if he was incapicitated in any way he was instantly teleported to an other-planar sanctuary where he was fixed up fully :D Of course there's no need...

    Need Oriental "Flavor

If you were wanting to run a political game or a game in the courts/aristocracy of an Eastern setting then I would recommend a translation of The Tale of Genji. Not only is it jsut right for the purpose but it's also the first novel ever (as so far discovered) It's set at the turn of the first...

OT Geneology - and I'm Part Celestial!

That's similar to me in quite a few ways :). Though I haven't looked it p recently and I haven't given much time to studying the family tree I know that someone did all the research and I go back eventually to some of the Gods of the Philippines. I'll have to do more research into that... A bit...

    IRON PC Game I

Now I'm going to look like a crazed British person leaping on your mistake as it's the only thing that might bring meaning to my life (it's not true! :D) Moores are rolling not very fertile uplands (not especially near the sea to my knowledge though a more knowlegeable brit may come along and...
