D&D 5E (2014) Moving out of concealment to attack - when is stealth broken?

I think that it's a good idea to leave rulings to the DM, as circumstances can change the success of the attempt; I would hope that they make it easier to hide and remain undetected if any players are playing Rogues, though. So I'd tentatively say #1, then #2 unless the DM says otherwise.

    D&D 5E (2014) NPC Allies?

Could you clarify what the difference is between a DMNPC who is friendly and assists the party compared to an Ally?

    It's Your Turn to GM

I can agree with that. So long as the GM is able to keep their players invested in the world by being invested in it themselves, and make the game fun for everyone, it's all good.

    It's Your Turn to GM

I'm fairly certain that DM is the moniker used when running a D&D game, while GM is the generic term for anyone who runs any game.

How to become a half fiend?

According to the Wikipedia page on D&D editions, the most recent edition at the time was 3e.

How to become a half fiend?

My search-fu in the Meta forum hasn't brought me to any rules against necroposting, and Terms and rules says nothing on the subject. We do seem to be getting a little off-topic now. With the different editions that have been published since this thread was started, Tieflings seem to be the...

    It's Your Turn to GM

I'm in the "I Don't Know What To Do" camp. I'm hoping that the next campaign I'll be in will allow me to stretch my roleplaying skills before I propose the idea.

D&D 5E (2014) Rogues are Awesome. Is it the Tasha's Effect?

Well, I'm excited for my DM's next campaign to start, where I get to play the new Soulknife subclass. The features look pretty cool, and definitely would be of use for a Changeling who can kill without a trace.

How to become a half fiend?

It could be that the forums aren't churning out new threads each day, so scrolling through the list a little bit brought OP to one they're interested in replying to.

Some stuff about units of measurement and spelling

At this point I feel measurements should be world-specific lingo, like yalms or something. I get that feet/metres are used so that people can visualise the dimensions, but it should be consolidated under one system.

D&D General Let's Talk About How to "Fix" D&D

I think it mechanically prevents them from being too OP. I think Darkvision is also described as being able to see in shades of grey?

D&D General Let's Talk About How to "Fix" D&D

Just read up on the time/tension pool over at The Angry GM and it's an interesting mechanic. I think it'd be a little harder to implement over VTTs as the visual aid tends to be lost on them. I think time tracking should appeal to a player's meta-knowledge, as time changes speed according to...

D&D General How often (on average) do you have D&D sessions with absolutely no combat?

My current campaign is an adventure path (Tomb of Annihilation), so I'm guessing that's the reason behind the constant combat (not to mention the constant travelling across Chult). From what my DM told me, there's going to be more RPing in his upcoming homebrew campaign, so I expect the ratio of...

    D&D General D&D vs. Anime

I'm interested in both. I think Goblin Slayer is pretty D&D-esque, what with Priestess having a limited number of miracles a day along with the dwarf shaman and lizardman priest's spells.

D&D 5E (2014) Sorcerers Should Be Constitution-Based Casters, Not Charisma

I understand they might be half-casters (and technically not a class offered by the PHB), but Artificer features use INT as well.

D&D 5E (2014) Sorcerers Should Be Constitution-Based Casters, Not Charisma

I believe Bards should be CON-based because, well, you know... :devilish: But on a more serious note, I think there's an argument to be made for warlocks to be CON-based. Like @Minigiant said, patrons grant powers in different ways, and in the PHB, under the Great Old One, The Great Old One...

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Playing Tomb of Annihilation, had our most recent session yesterday (number 34, IIRC). My party was captured the session before by Yuan-ti and imprisoned in their base. The leader isn't all that bad and helped let us out (small combat encounter that resulted in the Fighter becoming temporarily...

Creative juices dry, need some input

What's the company's mission statement? What do they want to give players? Freedom to do whatever they want? Adventures that they'll never forget? If it's freedom I'm quite partial to Freiheit (German for freedom) Inc.

D&D General trying to come up with a decent setting idea.

For elementals doing things besides killing PCs, I suggest taking a look at the Eberron setting for inspiration if possible; elementals are incorporated into daily life like powering trains. What do you mean by "properly integrating the monk class into the world"?

D&D 5E (2014) Which Virtual Table Top are you using right now and what do you like best about it?

Yikes, that sucks. I definitely agree for the less technically inclined Foundry might not be the best fit. My DM does coding, so he probably has an easier time. He's trying to use it for other games like CoC or Lancer, but we haven't got there yet.
