    Extra Domain as a feat?

I was thinking I would allow it in a second. They only get one domain spell per day, and most of the domain powers arn't that powerfull. I can't think of any that are gamebreaking. Strength and Travel are cool domains, but I would allow either in exchange for a feat. Without changing the...

    Tumbling

While I agree with this, it's worth admitting that it isn't explicit in the rules. If I recall, the rules say your movement is reduced by half, without the suggestion of splitting it up or necessarily ruling it out. FAQ suggests simply counting the tumble squares as double movement. Again I...

Looking for alternative Rod of Wonder table

There was a 2nd edition net book of wild surges, I think there were 8,000 results. Which made for some odd rolling methods. My plan, if it came up again, was to use the basic wild surge table (or in this case, wand table) and then have each effect only happen once. Once a result was rolled, I...

    Sight in Daylight

This is the encounter distance (when you check to see if characters spot another group of characters). This is what you were asking about. However when it comes to spotting non humanoid objects like a mountain, giant flaming eye at the top of a tower etc... How far you can see is infinite...

    Did I get this wrong?

I think you can take the 5' step (not a move action, special action when you perform no other move), drop your weapon (free action), draw a weapon (move equivalant that does not invalidate the 5' step), standard action attack. If you had quickdraw (free action) you could have even made a full...

    Blink spell help

I thought the comment about moving upward was just flavor/reasoning for why blinking reduces the falling damage. Nope, that is stated on another line, so I guess you have 50% chance to move up for 1/4 of your movement. Of course you fall right back down. Perhaps this fits into the...

    3rd Edition Planar Books?

My opinion of planes is Sigil/Planescape. I would call what you seem to be looking for is more other prime worlds. SpellJammer is a 2e system with that in mind. There are a lot of detailed campaign settings that can provide thier own unique twists. From 2nd edition Darksun to Birthright have...

Two feats every rogue must have

Or a scroll/wand of the 3rd level spell, Blacklight: 20' radius of total Darkness that you can see through. That grants the same thing without the expenditure of two feats. Sure it's not at will, but by the time you use 50 charges the cost to replace the wand will be a drop in the bucket.

    Riding intelligent mount

The mount being intelligent would would remove the need to Guide your mount, or control it in combat. The mount would act on it's own initiative, and you would have full round actions available to you (spontanious caster using a metamagic rod). A fighter would also be able to make it's full...

    Targeting into Concealment

I disagree with Infiniti's interpretation of what the "target or targets" section means. I think if it's a target spell with range touch, you need to touch. If it's a target spell with range close you need to see the target. Not mixing them at all solves all the problems of special attack...

    Combat Facing Variant Question

I applied a variant in 3.0 when the tower shield had facing. Instead of declaring your facing relative to the combat map, you could declare your facing relative to a single foe. In the 3.0 shield example, I use my shield for full cover from the big ogre with the glowing battleaxe. The orcs...

    Riding intelligent mount

I think skeptic is also wrong about the fighter being able to stand on the dragon and attack normally. To stand on a dragon and fight, you first need 5'x5' flat surface to 'fight effectively. I can't think of anything smaller than gargantuan that would even have a chance to fulfill that. If...

    Construct maker

There are guidelines on increased cost and caster level for LARGER golems. I've tried reverse engineering these into SMALLER golems, but with no sucess. I think at low levels one to four tiny iron golems would make great night watchmen. Darkvision, no need to rest, only need to sound an...

    Casting then dying

For area spells, like fog cloud, the effect continues until the duration expires. Even spells that are dismissable (D) continue since dismissing the spell is a standard action. Spiritual weapon is as mentioned, you stop directing it/out of sight, so it returns and hovers at the very least...

    Calculating appropriate CRs for gestalt

We have been using approx +1/4 levels. So for the first three levels there is no adjustment, although the characters should be able to endure one or two more encounters. The adjustment grows in higher levels because of quickened spells and spells of long duration being in effect most the time...

    Reaching past an ally?

I agree that there is a -4 to attack because of soft cover. I don't think there is a -4 for firing into melee though. Because the person providing cover isn't in a threatened square perhaps (except for chain)? There is a teamwork skill that reduces penalties for firing into melee to -2 and...

Wands and 1 Round Duration Spells

Hurray! I didn't think of that either. How much does that cost? 2nd level slot, 1st level caster OR do you need 3rd level caster?

    The Dead Walk - Limitations

Don't forget that although the invocation is at will, it's a standard action. It also provokes attack of opportunity and is subject to disruption/counterspells. I would also guess the range is touch, which makes the above slightly more significant.

Wands and 1 Round Duration Spells

It ends at the beginning of your next round. Which makes them useless (or only usefull for attacks of opportunity). Odd that they even list a wand of golemstrike in the book the spell first appears (complete adventurer?).
