    Best race for sorcerer?

Rakshasa is EL 7 and 7 HD that casts as a 7th level sorcerer. I believe that's ECL 14, but the additional HP, crazy stats and spell resistance would be priceless.

How far can a Human see in Starlight?

Where is this twice the distance rule? I know an elf gains twice the range from light sources, but I have never seen that elves can double his line of sight in a persistent lighting effect. You use this (made up?) rule saying low light can see twice the distance of normal vision to reverse...

How far can a Human see in Starlight?

My original answer was going to be smart-arsed: Several thousand Light years. I can see the stars, and they are pretty far away. But after reading the comments about shadowy illumination, I think it's actually correct and *looks out for lightning bolts* :heh: Hypersmurf may be wrong...

Are There Any Official Tower Shield Feats?

From the armored rogue thread: * Races of Stone Heavy Armor Optimization and Greater Heavy Armor Optimization increase the armor bonus by 1 each, and reduce the armor check penalties by 1 and 2, respectively, for a total +2 AC and -3 armor check penalty. * The Nimbleness ability from Magic of...

Ideas for Rogue in Heavy Armor

I'd do tumble, though you may need to wait until higher levels until you can make the check with the penalties. I like the tower shield idea, when it hits the fan go to full cover, or drop the shield and run. It would allow you to remove the shield when searching or disabling traps. Combat...

Ideas for Rogue in Heavy Armor

A level of figher is always good for combat rogues, not only will it save you a feat, it will gain you one. Weapon specialization isn't what it used to be but 4 levels of fighter might work. A level of cleric could work really well also. Travel and Luck domains (Farlangen (sp) from forgotten...

Reach Weapon and Hold the Line

It seems the feat was written with the assumption that both combatants will have weapons with the same reach. As it is, if you have a reach weapon only and the charger does not, you can't resolve your attack just before his attack, because the character is in a non-threatened square when he...

    Cover in Melee

Agreed with Patryn. It is a common house rule (not published as a variant) to just have it hit the cover if it miss by 4. The default rules have few instances where you can hit allys or unintended targets. Thrown grenade-like weapons (splash) and ranged weapons into a grapple are the only two...

Animal companions - more HD = more size?

No, there is text that specifies that animal companion advancement is different than monster manual HD advancement. I don't have the text, but I believe it's in the druid section. I think masters of the wild had something that could advance the HD of a non-animal companion creature, but that...

Does being raised affect a wizard's spell aquisition?

Sorry, I must have cut that out in one of my re-writes. The lower level spells would be safe. I don't think that there is any real SRD text to support that you lose the knowlege either, it just seemed wrong to have a learned spell that you can't cast. Well, he should by RAW. My personal...

Does being raised affect a wizard's spell aquisition?

If you lose acess to a level of spells, you would lose knowlege of the spells of that level. The lower level spell will be safe. If you made the check to learn the spells you have found/bought/stolen you should have a good chance to re-learn them. The DC to re-learn them is something like...

    List of non-SRD monsters

The SRD has a list of creautes not in the SRD? That's odd. It is missing the Gitzari and Githyanki also.

Does being raised affect a wizard's spell aquisition?

By RAW you do not lose the spells from your spellbook, and could chose two different spells when you level up again. If you lose acess to a level of spells (when you die on odd levels), you do un-learn the spells. They arn't removed from your spellbook, but you do need to make a spellcraft...

Poly'ing into Dragon: what age category?

Even at 25th level, You will get the form of a CR18 Huge Dragon. It's alright in some circumstances, but won't send a significant foe at 25th level fleeing. Yes, the Gold (8 HD) Bronze (12 HD) and Silver (7HD) dragons gain Alternate form, which can be used throught the shapechange spell.

Poly'ing into Dragon: what age category?

I'm not sure I understand your question. At 7th level you can plolymorph into a Very Young (Small) 7HD Black Dragon. At max 15th level you can become a Juvenile (Medium) Black Dragon. You will note that Dragon's don't come up often as ideal forms for polymorph, because they arn't that...

    New FAQ: Polymorph issues solved

Yea, What's the deal? They should post FAQ on the message boards so we can give our usefull feedback before they make fools of themselves. How am I supposed to use the FAQ as a reference? I'll trust the FAQ.... exept where they are clearly wrong.

    Epic BAB math woes..

I believe this is correct, Except you don't gain additional attacks once you go epic, so you would only have three attacks at +36/+31/+26. The epic fighter gets 5 attacks, it doesn't make sense to have an epic fighter with racial HD to have another 3. I don't know if it's house rule or not...

Thought my 1st question was daft?

My first thought was the divine ranks don't stack. (from what you said) They only have the power to grant one rank, not a second rank. The rest has to be earned through followers (I think). I'm not much for Dieties having stats or PC's meeting them though.

    Pricing artifacts

Basically, The sell or market value would be based on it's maximum potential, likely making it more expensive than the character wielding it would probably be able to afford. I have a house rule-interpretation of magic items that may help. Creating a magic item costs experience, my...

    AD&D 2E 2E xp or not 2E xp?

Ahh, the good old days of waiting till the fighter had the orc almost dead to decide to throw in your magic missile. We just made a 'you stole my kill' joke the other day.
