    Summoning creatures with healing?

Well, you are the DM? You could adopt the more leinient interpretation of 'Extra Spell' or allow a version that lets you add a spell known. But there's a reason why no one wants to be the cleric, and somone learn/memorize certain spells to fill the role of cleric completely re-creates the...

    MIC - Runestaves

Ah, I had missed that detail. And the spell doesn't need to be on the spells known list, IIRC. So for the wizard it adds some spontanious casting, for the sorcerer it adds spells known. I'm guessing it favors the sorcerer more, but It's not something I would turn down as a wizard either.

    Fireball and line of site/effect

I'd agree AC5 plus "blade barrier provides cover (+4 bonus to AC, +2 bonus on Reflex saves) against attacks made through it." In this case however, the fireball is detonating inside, and those outside get the +2 reflex save? Usually you can choose a path that ignores cover. Like 6' tall...

    Summoning creatures with healing?

You shouldn't force the group to have someone play a certian class. As mentioned there is use magic device, or other classes like bard, ranger, paladins have cure light on thier class list so they can use wands. By 7th level or so, someone focused on UMD should be able to do so reliably. The...

    Level Adjustment Point Buy Equivalencies

I know I would take a +1 LA in exchange for +4, +3, +2, +2, +2, -2. It's hard to relate this to point buy since +4 on a 16 is something different than +4 to an 11. The Elite vs base argument comes to a 14 point difference if I added them up right (I don't think I did). I would probably take a...

    Sneak Attack Rogue Optimization help.

I was also wondering how he was going to sneak attack with produce flame after the first round, or what he was talking about when he hinted that the druation of flame blade could go beyond 1 min/level. Aside from those points I agree with most, non core certainly brings a lot to the table...

    Wall of Force

I agree with the commnents above. The wall of force is flat and further it automatically fails is someone is in the way negating the need for a save. This could ocurr when attempting to cast the spell diagonally on a grid, where one of the squares are occupied, or when trying to create the...

    darknes and light magic interactions?

To dispell an equal or lower spell you would target the first spell. Note that light and darkness have a range of touch, making this more difficult when the target object is attended. First you would need to make a touch attack against the object size plus dex of creature holding it. Then...

    Arcane Channeling + Shocking Grasp

I agree with the 'yes' to the +3 applying, making that a nice bonus for the duskblade. Yes the spell stays charges when using the low level version. When using the full attack version the spell ends at the end of the round. There are times when a high level duskblade may want to use the...

    Hiding & Sniping

If sneak attack is your goal, then bluff (feint) is what you want. Any ranged weapon with the improved feint feat. With either method you still need to figure out a way to prevent the target from charging your position. If I recall, you always know what direction you were attacked from. I...

Why You Don't Let the Sage Answer Psionics Questions

I get what your point is, but don't totally agree with you. It seems your question was can a psionic creature 'further' augment psi-abilities. The answer was no, but then added the comment about minimum augment. The added comment seems to be the part you take offense to. I would compare it to...

The Lutron and Reget are good lighting creatures: http://www.lighting.com/section.cfm?id=46&page=/manufacturers.html I don't have the stats on them. They shoot Phillips Illuminary rays.

Quick help needed - most powerful 3rd lvl build

Seems like a job for a warlock, hide and blast. I haven't checked what they have acess to at that level but it seems it could work. Potion of fly seems to be popular, and protection from arrows would be good.

    Sourcebooks for Shadowstuff and...

I noticed the Unearthed Arcana, P63 Illusionist varriant, referenced 'shadowstuff'. I'd love more information on what it is, and what the properties are, but it seems to be a vague and varied concept that depends on the writer. I'd also like to know if it was described in 2e or AD&D.

    Playing a Healer

I wish I knew more about the healer class. I don't have the book and it's not likely to be used in any games I play in. That said, I do like the suggestion to emulate the warmage / beguiler and make the spells spontaneous, including the advanced learning. To make it a playable I would hope...

    How Shadowy is Shadowy Illumination?

In theory you should draw the 60'. It would probably be fair to leave details like doors off the map until they are within the 30'. I take it there's something specific that's at issue? Usually in practice I draw out whatever fit's on the map while the players discuss. Just like it doesn't...

    Immunity to Illusions Question

This does bring to mind some of the recent discussions of the effectiveness of certain illusions. I think the example was either Project Image or Major Image. Project Image creates a shadow duplicate, does it duplicate scent and tremor effects? Would a wizard using major image be able to...

    Invisibility and Light Source

Are you reading the same text as I am? Light Never becomes invisible. Note that light, continual flame, and darkness have effect target, not emination. Contrast those to Silence "Area: 20-ft.-radius emanation centered on a creature, object, or point in space ". A silenced object placed in...

    invisibility vs. dispel magic

Personally, I wouldn't consider it attack in the confused Ally scenario. I don't think I would consider it an attack as an area effect dispel either, even if foes are included. But would consider it an attack you used the targeted dispell on an enemy.
