    SoulForged - Thayan Warforged

And from the flames As chance would have it The Soulforged will come into light And from the flames As chance would have it The Soulforged, the stainless will rise -- Blind Guardian - The Soulforged -- Fits rather serendipitously, does it not?

All PC dead, what to do?

This is a pretty anachronistic sentiment, it sounds like something from back when Grimtooth's Traps was in print and the name of the game appeared to be much more "DM vs PCs" than it is today. The days of "Save or die" instant death traps, when the Tomb of Horrors was considered the greates...

What was the fate of Obould Many-Arrows?

Wouldn't it be ironic if he were killed by a bunch of elves firing many, many arrows at him?

    How do you pronounce "Sahuagin"?

Indeed, and to a foreigner, non-IPA pronouncation guides are nearly useless, whereas IPA is expressly designed to be universal.

All PC dead, what to do?

Having someone eavesdrop on you is a whole degree of magnitude from that person being a vicious assassin. I'd say them not considering her a serious threat was quite justified under the circumstances.

All PC dead, what to do?

Incidentally, how much XP are three 7th level adventurers worth to a 4th level rogue?

All PC dead, what to do?

Sod that. Starting over after 31 sessions, all undone by a stroke of bad luck? How's that not lame? To me as a player it'd feel like a knee to the groin.

    How do you pronounce "Sahuagin"?

I wish WOTC would just start putting in IPA pronounciations to the monster descriptions. 'twould save trouble.

Monks using weapons, is it worth it?

Well, just because you have both hands full of weapons doesn't stop you from using unarmed strike. And just because it's called "Stunning Fist" doesn't mean you can't use it for a kick to the groin, elbow to the ribs or a headbutt to the nose.

    Bear Warrior is NERFED

Agreed. Being able to transform to a freakin' huge, slobbering bear is cool. Being able to wrestle opponets is cool. Being able to bear-wrestle your opponents to submission? How is this anything but cool? :-P

    How dumb are golems?

Hm, all this thread is showing me is that having a nonintelligent enemy is a bad idea and will only result in inane non-encounters. I must make a note that all golems must possess Int of at least 3 (it's good enough for Bob the half-orc, so it must be good enough here too). Or, alternatively...

A couple of races for your consideration

The Mountain Folk Probably the most often-seen and commonly accepted demihuman race, the mountain folk (called Thoaken by themselves and dwarves by outsiders) can be found almost everywhere. The greatest of their strongholds is Karrak, located under, over and within the great mountain known to...

A couple of races for your consideration

The Jezai The jezai are are said to be an offshoot of the githzerai of Limbo, but there are notable differences, especially in their personality. Jezai are a race of planar nomads, forever chasing cosmic truths and forgotten lore. Why they do this is uncertain; they themselves claim to be...

A couple of races for your consideration

Well, I've never liked the PHB races all that much, really. I initially wanted to supplant them all, but never finished that. I still have two completely new races to post, as well as two reinterpretations (dwarves and gnomes).

A couple of races for your consideration

Well, as you can see, the Jarthii are totally unsuitable as a player race anyhow. They're kind of my way of saying "No, you can't play a bloody elf, dammit." Bard would be an appropriate alternative favored class, though their culture is sorcery-based. Kuruks... well, I never quite liked them...

A couple of races for your consideration

The Jarthii The Jarthii (or, as humans call them, elves) were, according to their legends, the first race made by the Creator and reputedly the only race that survived the Time of Torment without any of its members succumbing to the corruption. While it is true that their physical forms are as...

New spell - Happy Birthday Song

I agree that doing it by categories is preferably to by years, since that was always vastly off the wall with many races, and lethal to short-lived ones like the thri-kreen.

I'm ready for Fourth Edition now (a brief manifesto)

Umm, no. I said FATAL possesses wildly different ideas to D&D. Wouldn't you agree that to be the case? I actually think it was done with serious intent, since most pranksters wouldn't have the strength to elongate their joke to 900 pages.

I'm ready for Fourth Edition now (a brief manifesto)

Rule 1 has nothing to do with rules and everything to do with adventure design. For your other points, might I recommend another rules system entirely? Try Rolemaster, GURPS or FATAL. they each possess wildly different traits and ideas.
