    Did I miss something

Error, Error ... Examine ... Paladins have 10 + Con mod healing surges per day. They can spend Wis mod of those with lay on hands on others, and one in a second wind. There are 2 paladin powers <= L11 which use healing surges, and both are dailys. Since there are no leaders in the party (who...

    4E Poorly Rated on Amazon...

Euhm, iirc, it's "To pale in comparison". Not "To pall". Nor "To pail". And it doesn't. It even has a bit in it that looks like I could have written it. (P113, "Drawing Diagonal Walls", see here, applied to squares).

    Alleluia, Praise the lord Ioun!

That would be "Alleluia, Praise the lady Ioun!" (4E PHB1, p21).

D&D 4E 4e skill system -dont get it.

Using Har's excellent example as demonstration material, I don't see how you could reduce all the rolls made to one single roll. First of all, notice how it's not one character making these checks, but multiple. The example has a ranger, a wizard, a rogue and a paladin all (attempting to)...

    D&D 4E Non-Euclidean Geometry in 4E?

Beautiful rebuttal. More so because you used the same drawing guidelines I proposed in post #121 to draw the angled walls on the square grid (bisecting edges, not cells ), thus avoiding having half-cells all over the place.

    D&D 4E Non-Euclidean Geometry in 4E?

Not necessarely. The area of effect you're describing looks a bit more like a 12.5' radius circle anyway. Which would indeed be 5pts in a 5' = 2pts metric. Hex circles "suffer" from the same problem. An actual 10' radius circle looks horrible (see Unearthed Arcana's version of the gargantuan...

    D&D 4E Non-Euclidean Geometry in 4E?

Think of your position on the board as a probability wave. You're everywhere in the cell, you're just much more likely to be near the middle than you are to be on the edge. Now, if (on a hex map that lines up one of its axes with the vertical, as in my example in post 121) you want to move west...

    D&D 4E Non-Euclidean Geometry in 4E?

How to map square rooms with hexes A little course in mapping square rooms with hexes: Do NOT draw lines that bisect hexes, or that are coincide with hex edges. Draw only lines that bisect two hex edges (and only so that the two edges of the hex being intersected are not on opposite sides of...

Death and Dying trial rules... when do you die?

Approximation And here I was all ready to present an approximation method that might provide a middle road between "Unrealistic! Monsters die at 0hp!" and "DM Hell having to roll scores of recovery checks for unimportant monsters", when I noticed I made the same mistake Merric did (presuming...

    Gallery image removal request

Can someone kill off this image? It got frisked when the gallery software resized it on its own... Thx in advance. Edit: *sigh* Seems I fell for the same error the esteemed Merric did here ... Now the chart itself is wrong, and my approximation has gotten too inaccurate to even present to...

The Devil's in the Details: Slavicsek reveals the Pit Fiend in all its glory

Presuming that Religion ~ Knowledge (Religion), the Pit Fiend has 4 trained skills at +5 over the base attribute check: Bluff (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Perception (Wis), & Religion (Int). Using SWSE terminology, that is. No immediately visible reason why 4 trained skills, though (base Int = +6).
