    PrC: Elven Forest Protector

Elven Forest Protector Daren turned as he was walking down the trail, sensing the eyes upon him again, the sixth time in the past hour, ever since he entered the woods of Elmoranth, home of the elves. Spinning about he crouched low as if expecting a arrow to be wizzing over his head. Listening...

Can't Find Trees- Damn Forest. Secret of Good DM'ing?

Yes can't agree with a lot that was said above (except for Guilt Puppy). Recently took up the GM rod again and funny how you forget these things. My thing I have to think of is to remember to have as many different solutions to an encounter as possible planned out. Last session I had a...

    Leadership TWICE?

Well, I would ask about your campaign? How many players do you have? Do they show up consistantly? Is the party weaker than they should be? Are they lacking a particular area (healing for example). Depending on the answers above I would say yes. In our campaigns we allow it, but the player can...

Please Critique - Instant Portrait (Spell)

I like the concept. First, I believe there is a spell that copies a non-magical page of written text onto a new page. I believe this is a first level spell, which is easier than making a nice painting, so you may consider it a higher level, though back in the old days, writting was an art...

Natural Weapons, Hybrid form, AND TWF

From the latest FAQ And from another part of FAQ... Now this is about Flurry of blows and Two weapon fighting and Flurry of Blows with Natural weapons, I would think that the same logic applies with by combining the two. But logic doesn't always prevail in 3.5.... :)

Natural Weapons, Hybrid form, AND TWF

I believe the ruling is if you use a weapon, it becomes your PRIMARY attack, and any remaining attacks become your secondary attacks, including extra PRIMARY attacks. If you use two weapons it would be considered primary attacks. So if a monster/character has four claw attacks as it's PRIMARY...

Natural Weapons, Hybrid form, AND TWF

To make matters worse, If you had Two Weapon Fighting, you could have a weapon in each hand, and still attack with your bite attack. Check out the latest WoTC FAQ for more information/ruling. There are feats which reduce the -5 penalty for second Natural attack, called (IIR) MultiAttack and...

Item-swapping: what to do about it?

I don't see this as a problem per say, we do it in our campaign, but usually on a adventure basis. For example who gets this very nice ring this adventure. As a GM that you can fix this or limit it. First as stated, put items out only usable by certain classes/races. Also some items take a time...

    Seeking Chase Rules

I have seen a few different ones. I can never remember the exact one, but it was basically a d20 opposed roll where for each point win the runner would gain 5' or something like that. Here are Car chase rules I found with quick search, but couldn't find the others (which I have seen but forgot...

    Review These Spells--Please

First, as already said, way too many spells in a single post to do a good review. So will only give brief. Lighten Load, as said duration is way too long. Also compare it to Bulls Strength which grants +6 STR (limited duration). The character would only get (basically) double the carrying...

    Epic-level stuff

Hanen't seen a lot of EPIC stuff on the web. Most content on the web is usually for specific campaigns/worlds. Probably your best place is the boards. Also for a better version of the SRD than you can find on the Wizards site, visit the following site (great access to SRD)...

    New Spell: Tauric Transmutation

Other thoughts. First, in the EPIC campaign there is a spell which creates a new "breed" or race of creatures. So how is yours different from that and also from Polymorph any Object (PAO) (which is a 8th level spell). I would start with PAO and then make changes. Since it can only target...

    How much Homebrew to Brew?

As a GM: In the world I am designing/running now, I give out little information. 01) Usually a rules overview, changes that I have made on specific things. 02) General geography where they come from (but not world level detail). 03) History as the players would know it (limited to...

[Epic Feat] Relentless [ Upper Krust look here ]

Well I could see it being EPIC, as in a battle there could be several times you are taken below 0 and brought back, but in most cases something in the EPIC levels is going to do more than 10 points of damage. So it would only be good where you have about 50hp and then take damage which would put...

    A Dice and paper organizer!

The only reason I was thinking of the dice box as a type of "drawer" that pulled out to the side, is I often have to look at my character sheet. Thus if I have to flip it up and then back again is not a productive. Also being a pull out drawer I can go several sessions without needing to roll a...

Homebrew Serpentfolk - Watered down Yuan-Ti or Lizardfolk

When I think of snakes I think of them as tough creatures. Snakes often fall from trees, get tossed, hit etc. So I don't think CON would be much better than CHR. Though CHR is too often used as a dump stat. So maybe make it INT? I don't know. But I did add Cold Vulnerabilty (not sure if thats a...

Need Help on creating a Class

probably not allowed to write up the exact stats, but can give basics. They get minor damage reduction, resistance to the 3 elements, Smite good and SR based on level. Rather than celestial template I would go with UA bloodlines where the character gains abilities over levels.

Homebrew Serpentfolk - Watered down Yuan-Ti or Lizardfolk

Well you basically created the class yourself. Just type it up. Serpentkin: Medium Humanoid (Human, Reptilian) > +2 DEX > -2 WIS (Slow thinking) > -2 CHR (Weird looking, not social, loners) > +1 Natural Armor (tiny scales, often have patterns) > +10 Movement speed > Able to hold breath 3x...

    For the sake of adventure

Well you can sort of get your players into this type of mindset. When they finish off an adventure and are in a town, just don't have any "plots" jumping out to meet them. Give them a vacation from the hustle and adventure. While they are relaxing in town, have the NPCs talk about the old mines...
