    Charging in PF2

Does anyone know how exactly charging works in PF2? I know there was some discussion of the feat that enhanced charging, here: https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo5lklh&page=5?All-About-Actions#213 What I couldn't find out is whether a normal charge adds any extra damage or bonuses. I...

Remember these MERP/Rolemaster critical hit tables?

The new version of RMU is going with an action point system, where you get 4 action points to spend each turn and different actions cost different amounts. I think it will speed the round up quite a bit.

Remember these MERP/Rolemaster critical hit tables?

That is awesome! Just to put that in context for anyone who hasn't played in Shadow World (the main RM fantasy world, other than Middle Earth): The Dragonlords are usually around level 60. In terms of their stats, they are virtually gods.

Remember these MERP/Rolemaster critical hit tables?

It has been a long process, and the goal has been to get it right rather than just get it out. Beta1 was 2012; beta2 was 2015. They decided against doing a third beta, and have most of Character/Arms, and Spell Law where they want it. The sticking point recently has been Creature Law, since the...

Remember these MERP/Rolemaster critical hit tables?

The new ICE just announced that they are planning to publish the new version of Rolemaster later this year. It has been a long beta process, but it sounds like we will have the new version -- with new critical charts -- in our hands by the end of 2019...

    Mearls On D&D's Design Premises/Goals

Very well put. I agree completely. This is one of the reasons I've been so disappointed with 5e: too few options. And no, I don't think a rules book that tells the DM and player, 'Just make it up', is a very good substitute. We're on our third 5e campaign and we've already pretty much...

    Breaking Morale

Great article! I think it is all too easy for DMs to forget about morale, and every game should at least mention the fact that creatures rarely fight to the death. Like Schmoe, I don't have strict rules, but I do try to run NPCs and monsters in a realistic fashion. When the PCs kill two or...

Where Are All the Dungeon Masters?

5e is far harder to DM than 4e, IMHO. 5e marks a big step backwards as far as I am concerned. 4e modules listed the full stats for each creature, together with a battle map. 4e had different rules for monsters that meant all their powers could be represented on the stat block, without you...

    The Mahout: Basic Class Information

Right, sorry; I didn't catch that. But yes, I think we agree here.

    The Mahout: Basic Class Information

Fighter, Monk, Thief, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, and Wizard sound pretty generic to me. In any case, my point was that the primary purpose of the name is to give an general indication of what the class is like in a word or two. Pretty much any English speaker is going to be able to infer from the...

    The Mahout: Basic Class Information

Nothing against Indian culture by the way, I just would prefer the name be more generic so it can fit in any setting. I wouldn't want Ninjas in a game set in ancient Rome, nor Centurions in a game set in feudal Japan.

    The Mahout: Basic Class Information

What was the debate? If it was over the name, I much prefer Beastmaster to Mahout, since Beastmaster is more generic and not so closely tied to Indian culture.

Tink-Tink-Boom vs. the Death Spiral: The Damage Mechanic in RPGs

Thanks for explaining that; I do have a better understanding now of what that means. However, I still feel the original article is being too simplistic in its divisions of systems into one of only two options. Yes, Rolemaster and MERP can have death spirals. But what the original article...

Tink-Tink-Boom vs. the Death Spiral: The Damage Mechanic in RPGs

I think the article is based on a false dichotomy. It leaves out the possibility of a third way, which is the way Rolemaster and MERP went. It has hit points, but more often you die of a wound. But these wound's aren't necessarily a death spiral, where the player gets progressively worse; a...

Pathfinder 2 Character Sheet #6: Ezren, Human Wizard

I don't play Pathfinder, but I had assumed that, since it was based on 3.5, that Wizards only got 1d4, not 6. But I guess I was wrong about that. Overall, though, I see your point: there is still quite a bit of variation.

Pathfinder 2 Character Sheet #6: Ezren, Human Wizard

Seems like hits for level 1 characters don't really vary that much. The Wizard has 16, the Human Paladin 19, and the Cleric and Fighter 20.

Pathfinder 2 Character Sheet #4: Seelah, Human Paladin

Must act with honor eh? I guess she won't be using her Pickpocket skill much then.

D&D 5E (2014) Full List of Published 5e Classes and Races?

I hope this is the right forum: our group is starting a new 5e campaign and we wanted to get a full list of all published 5e classes, subclasses and races to choose from. Does anyone know if anyone has compiled such a list? Or even just a list of official publications with expansion classes...
