"Probably because like light sensitivity, they're removing unnecessary penalties that punish the player for playing the PC with no mechanical compensation." Why does all balancing have to be additive? There's nothing wrong with penalties!

D&D General Roleplaying Powerful Beings versus Smart-Aleck PCs

Actual advice: Chuckle along at the amusing smart aleck comments. No need to be super serious right off the bat! Then when a lull comes, say to the player(s): "Ok. so what does your character REALLY say?" Odds are good that once they have the initial knee-jerk defiance out of their system...

D&D 5E (2014) How much should my party pay for a WereTiger Merc?

The Weretiger will accept any amount. After all, they are planning on killing the party and taking ALL the treasure later, right?

Dragonlance Dragons of Deceit: Check Out the Dragonlance Novel Cover

D&D 5E (2014) Yes to factionalism. No to racism.

    D&D 5E (2014) Roleplaying in D&D 5E: It’s How You Play the Game

The purpose of the original post is to get us to argue passionately with it's position without it actually having a position. That isn't just trolling. That is FANCY trolling. That is monocle-and-top-hat trolling! Bravo.

TSR TSR3.5 Launches IndieGogo Campaign to "Stop" WotC

Launching an ill-considered, frivolous, over-reaching lawsuit is probably the most authentically "TSR" thing these chucklehumps have actually done.
