    D&D 4E 4E PrRC ~v2.7~ FINAL UPDATE May 29.08

(HUGE OFF-TOPIC, But... Is there a search button here in the forums?? Or am I so blind that I haven't found it? And if there's not... Why is that? It would help a lot)

    D&D 4E 4E PrRC ~v2.7~ FINAL UPDATE May 29.08

There's a mistake on Flanking. A flanked creature grants combat advantage to every other creature in the encounter, not just the flankers.

    4th Ed Grapple

Grapple is a Standard action. Don't know the rest.

Warlord Player's job is to tell other players what to do??

It's not about having nice buddies or jerks in the table. It's about a weird class that can move his teamates around (without ANY magical power) as he sees fit... I know it's a "cool and fun" mechanic, very useful, etc. But it should not happen, a player moves his mini... and is not messing...

Warlord Player's job is to tell other players what to do??

The Warlord concept is awesome! But the warlord rules are just disgusting! Some time ago it was discused here if the warlord was often going to be role-played a la barking, on-your-feet-scumbag seargent... but the actual mechanics made him even worse! He jus moves peaople arround... Even if...

That's the same option I will take. Hexes solve the thing. Bursts and Blasts will work just as well and the world/map/grid will be consistente during the whole session. Yay for hexes!! (I've even built a flexible home-made hex board, covered with sticker plastic that allows for customization...

Heck, yes! That's my concern too. I'm more an "inmersion" or "character" guy. This is the way many of us play here in Peru. I will try 4e when it comes out to see the whole thing, though.

Well, anything is smoother than SWSE's 2-2-2-2 diagonals. 1-1-1-1 is closer to 1.41-1.41-1.41-1.41 than 2-2-2-2, anyway.

It's cool, man. This problem was brought by other posters (that don't have autocad chips in their brains like I do) back in the first pages. I'm just drawing the thing to illustrate the point.

    Diagonal wonkiness scenarios

I didn't label anything, I just used a Dimension Line in AutoCad. This precise program made the mesurement, not me. I am not placing the minis as the Far Realm rules tell me. I'm placing them as logic tells me, as my intuition tells me, as my eyes tell me. Here's another one: this time with a...

    Diagonal wonkiness scenarios

How many times do we have to say this? It's not about it being BROKEN!!! I it's VERY likely that it is not broken, and I am sure it is consistent every time. Thats NOT the issue. It's about believability, logic and intuition. Not rules-intuition: natural intuition. Like saying: that mini "A"...

What about a Prysmatic sphere or a fireball? The burst description says it affects a 5x5 square, and it is supposed to be a sphere.

I know what the rules say about it. I'm arguing if it is intuitive and logical for us, the players whatching this nonsense happening on our game tables.

    D&D 4E 4e Monster List - Dwarven Nosepicker & Elven Butt Scratcher

The thing is, we will only get about 120 different "species" of monsters... (much less if we have many animals and vermin)

I kinda understand what you were saying, and it actually applies in an infinite, featureless grid that resembles the abstraction of combat (a la Final Fantasy games?) but what if the actual room where the characters are fighting IS a perfect 25' x 25'? Is the corner of room affected? If so, How...

So you are saying that the room in the left reshapes into the room in the roght when a Wizard casts a Burst 2 spell centerd on him? Damn, spellcasters ARE powerful.

You just ruined your case with your "That's the bottom line, 'cause The Rulez say so" We KNOW the rules say so. If you didn't notice, we are discusing if what the rules say is right or wrong or logical or ilogical or wonky... etc.

    Diagonal wonkiness scenarios

Now, this is good a case. Things like running and charging in straight lines could be counter-case, but they are gone, I think... BUT...(here we go) That valid asumption is invalidated by the way they handle Area effects. There's no movement there. No erractic non-straight movement. In spell...
