Rules that still feel unneeded (to me)

You know what? In order to actually PREVENT the 15 minute workday/6 hour camp, I think I will allow the players to use up to 3 action points per encounter... to reward the extended adventuring.

Rules that still feel unneeded (to me)

Yes! Maybe something not so tough as the SW SAGA Condition track, but at least a -1 to all rolls and checks would be nice to "bloodied" characeters.... that would be more in line with the "tough decisions" aproach: Do I want to be bloodied, taking a -1 penalty but having access to this neat...

Rules that still feel unneeded (to me)

I can go with bloodied and second wind. I buy them. But Action Points sound lame now... The original AP in Eberron look A LOT more heroic, turning a miss into a hit does seem like pushing beyond your limits and stuff...And all of this is true... The times I've used them were usually really...

D&D 4E 4E: The day the game ate the roleplayer?

In third edition Leafildor could do that 3/day, THAT makes sense! as every other thing he did. He couldn't do anything at will! And again: when you see the ubber-powerful wizard blasting soldiers like flies, it means: Level 20 wizard whacking level 3 fighters. If somehow, fighters make it to...

    Healing

I have a question I've wanted to asked for some time, and since this thread is called "healing" I think this maight be the right place -Loosing hit points means something like "getting tired", right? This is why you can use a second wind to spend a healing surge once per encounter. I think this...

If you could buy advance copies of the core books now, how much would you pay?

Is this an auction? (you have the books, don't you? DON'T YOU?!!!)

D&D 4E Vote for your favorite 4E PHB cover!

Maybe this is why I thought the green dragon fight wasn't WAR's at first glance (as I posted earlier in this thread) the weapons in this image are all normal! the sword, the rapier... even the staff. This is good. (The color in this picture is a bit different compared to most of his art, also) I...

D&D 4E Vote for your favorite 4E PHB cover!

I'd say the focus of the third cover is the fighter. He is the one with all the momentum of a, maybe reckless, charge. The Dragon is just standing still, waiting. But you can see in all the party a lot of dinamism, a lot of potential action. Anyway, how about this version? is this enough...

    New Player's Handbook Cover Art!

Well, thanks for the info. There I go! (plane shifts to the other thread and readies an action to vote for the green dragon fight)

    New Player's Handbook Cover Art!

This is the key! Do you know why we like the convers of the DMG and MM and not the one in the PHB? Do you know why we like the green dragon fight better? It's about action. Orcus in the MM is charging madly agaist a scared party off-camera. The red dragon in the DMG is scrying on the PCs The...

D&D 4E Vote for your favorite 4E PHB cover!

Just a thought... If WAR is a must for the cover of the PHB.... how about his own version of the green dragon fight? (although I DO like it as is)

    New Player's Handbook Cover Art!

She doesn't seem so short... (well... halflings are not too short now, anyway). And it she IS a halfling, maybe the picture was drawn before WotC decided that all halflings (2/3-lings) use dreadlocks.

WotC has a milking machine now (Draconomicon I)

I think the OP is mostly bothered because in 3rd Editon he had to pay 30 something dollars to get a very, very cool book. But now, in 4e to get that similar amount of info he would have to pay arround 80 dollars. His concern (and mine) is if they are going to do this with other splats? We...

    New Player's Handbook Cover Art!

I like the new cover better than the older one. But... the wizard looks really ugly... it doesn't look like a WAR girl, wich are often really hawt.

Low Damage, High HP ... How is this "Faster"?

I think less real-world time is good, and longer in-game time is good too! For example, one of my favorite encounters in the LotR movies was the one with the Cave Troll back in Moria. It was somewhat long, and many, many things happend (many more if you count the earlier goblin-chopping) but it...

    Worlds and Monsters Art Gallery

Eventhough I am all for 4e, the art in this book (the monsters, not the landscapes) is in average worse than the ones in the Monster Manual 1. The new hobbo sucks, as the dryad. Very, very few ones are better than their 3e versions. The landscapes are really cool, though. Priceless!

WotC_PeterS: Charecter Names NEW: Town/Location Names

The group's DM, who is a French teacher, made that same observation :P, but there was no point in giving any sense to his -funny- nonsense

WotC_PeterS: Charecter Names NEW: Town/Location Names

My gaming buddy used to name all of his PC's "Whatever Le Blanc". He had Alcamis Le Blanc, Roland Le Blanc, Steven Le Blanc. They were all related, from the Le Blanc family, and they always had a Nemesis from their rival family: The "Le Black". In other news... So far, I have seen five or six...
