I think you're jumping to conclusions here. We can't really know if no-one will learn what Golden Wyvern Adept does. I remember. Though certainly, reading again through the "Feats" chapter in my 3.5 PHB makes me say: "I want my old simple 3e feats back :( !"

First of all: I HATE the feat (and everything else) naming direction they are taking. Golden Wyvern Adept, Dragon Tail cut, Lightning Panther Attack ("I'm Batman" looks cool, though :p ) They are all just silly. But, I think it doesn't really matter. No character knows his abilities are called...

Maybe the right way to go would be to leave those options open, while making school specialization more restrictive, maybe more drastic than the choice of the Psion's discipline. That way, a wizard could choose to be a necromancer, but he will be lame at blasting foes. The current 4e wizard...

Link, please!!! I thought I heard the other way around: something about assault, control and defense... but haven't heard/read about any talent tree.

Some ideas of how enchantment could be handled: -You spend standard or move actions to mantain the effect. (you "gain" actions throgh the controlled guy but you loose some actions yourself) maybe even full round actions when it is too powerfull. -The effects last one (1) round, or 1 round/5...
