Yeah a high con doesn't mean one is less likely to have allergies. I get seasonal allergies and I'm otherwise pretty darned healthy, tough and heal quickly. I had a broken leg for 3 days before i knew i'd broken it, i just thought I bruised it really badly after i decided to jump up in the air...
I just realized i spend about 5 hours a week doing D&D related stuff at work.
that means in six months i get paid at least $3000 towards gaming.
So my life is enriched by at least $116.00 per gaming session.
i spend about $35.00 a month on gaming. I play once a week on average for about 3.5 hours each session. So with 24 sessions to keep the math simple that means'
$8.75 a session.
$2.50 an hour of play
but if you put in reading game materials, paintign minis, building scenery,dithering...
I'm with the Strength score should be the value to use. Why have any more calculations in the game then needed? Strong knights can manage to be strong knights and pathetic wimps are pathetic wimps.
Mutants and Machines is the gem of the lot in the GW-d20 hardcovers.
I've been a long time GW fan (the original GW was my second or third RPG). I've bought every edition but couldn't really get into the white wolf version. But I am a sucker for monster books and mutants and machine is...
Over the years, and i'm talking 25+ , in games I've Dm'd there have been darned few Paladin pcs. I can only recall one by name (Racker Blackmore) and he was arround for a few years. I think I've been a PC in only one or two sessions with a 3e paladin being played by someone else and that was...
In my campaign "The House of the River Witch" can only be entered via a water entry. The tower pull sthat tardis trick where it is bigger on the inside then it is on the outside. There is a gimmick to the tower, the witch is hideously powerful but the act of moving the tower puts her to sleep...
some of the dungeons in my current campaign:
“The Black pit of the Dark Masters” home of a hideously powerful cabal of necromancers is 50 levels deep and all told has about 70 levels when sub levels are considered. A few levels only have a dozen or so rooms but there are also several levels...
Fallign Damage and Con drain doesn't do it for me. Sure an infection related to a fracture could do you harm and maybe cause CON damage but the fall itself is going to cause mobiliy related health issues, like broken bones. Maybe STR or DEX would be better candidates.
Real life falling damage-
I've jumped 10-12' onto a drive way over and over again as a child and was never hurt much, skinned my hand or knee a couple of times.
A window washer in the building i worked in fell about 10 stories onto the sidewalk. He lived but his hip and both legs were...
Blasphemous characters actively speak/act against the precepts of a popular relegion in the campaign. Admitedly it is easier to see this functioning in a campaign with a single pantheon of gods or a monotheistic system. Piety is a relative to the camapign sort of like good and evil and it...
I've toyed with it but never been brave enough to really give it a go.
Honor <-> Dishonorable
Pious <-> Blasphemous
Stuff like that. At first brush things like Blasphemous-Lawful-Good sound unworkable but faiths have schisms and new churches get founded.
Dishonorable-Lawful-Good i'm not to...
Really. Drop a mouse six feet and it is going to be a little surprised by the fall it may be injured.
Drop and elephant six feet and the fellow is going to hardly notice.
Drop either off an eight story rooftop and both are going to have to be cleaned off the sidewalk.
Bronze is all over the board in its properties. The rulebook ruling are bornze are adequate in pointign out differences between bronze and steel weapons. Historically bronze really lost out to Iron and Steel because it was more expensive then Iron based goods, some of the metals included in...
My parents are fine with RPGs. My dad is a rgular player in my Wednesday night games.
My grandfather, two of my uncles, my brother, my mother, my 1st wife and my son of all played D&D. So no problems at home with the game at all.
