What is a Rogue to do in an undead-heavy campaign?

Eventually the DM will have a non Undead baddie. The DM will not be used to the fact your PC can sneak attack said NPC, DM will do something stupid allowing you to off non Unead baddie and make you really glad you have a rogue.

    Suspension of Disbelief

A DM i know had his Rokugan campaign pretty much hinge on us figuring out a riddle that ultimayely involved us the players realizing a red hare and a red haired man were meant to be related to each other some how. Killed it for me. Fake japanese for "hare" wouldn't sound like "hair".

How do you use cliches in your game?

I take advantage of cliches by playing with expectations. I put the bad guys in white hats every now and then. Sometimes sewers are simply sewers and no one lives there. The person who wants you to solve the murder mystery is the doppleganger.

Do you read non-RPG fantasy novels?

I enjoy reading Science-fiction a lot more then fantasy but i pretty much enjoy fantasy gaming more then sci-fi gaming.

D&D 3.x Can a Monk use the Improved Natural Attack feat (from the MM 3.5)

Regardless of training you are never going to be able to use tooth and nail as well as a cat or bear. humans just aren't equipped with natural weapons worth speaking about. I'd say no to improved natural weapon for species that don't have a game indicated natural weapon to start with. Monks...

    [Theory] Why D&D is Popular

or the Drow , Ropers, Piercer, Carrion Crawler, Gellatinous Cube, Shrieker, Purple Fungi, Eye of the Deep, Rot Grub, Gnolls and Buellete. not to mention things like Trolls as per the D&D version. ( i was gonna put blink dog here but have they ever been popular?) I don't think monster...

    AD&D Strength

bonuses to hit and bonuses to damage BOTH impact how much damage per round a character is likely to dish out. Lets say you have a 50% chance to hit and you are using a longsword against amedium target. That means someone with no bonuses is likely to dish out 4.5*.5 = 2.25 points of damage a...

'Old School' Experiences with D&D 3.5

or let the "goofy, improbable weapons" be as useful and practiucal as they are in the real world. The world has ahd plenty of wacky weapons but whoel armies didin';t use any of these "ultimat weapons" because they were tricky to learn how to use, hard to carry and just simply dangerous. Just...

    Superhero Powers

a whole set of powers? I'd go with Superman. The saturday morning JLA cartoon do anything superman: "Oh can't figure out how to advance the story.. hey lookit what superman can do this time " - Superman. The "why the heck is there a whole league of superheroes when we have superman?"...

'Old School' Experiences with D&D 3.5

My old school games had mid level (4th to 7th level) PCS facing off against hundreds of humanoids at a time. i only had about 80 or so orc/goblin figures so i'd rotate dead figures from the front of the fight to the back of the fight. The PCs weren't "little guys" they were heroes.

    Commuting sucks.

argggghhhhhhhhhhhh It took me 2.5 hours to drive 37.5 miles today (35 miles of that highway). The weather was fine. There were no accidents of note. Just about 25% of the drivers on the road driving that shouldn't be allowed to from what i could tell : lots of zigging and zagging, treating...

D&D 4E The Daily "4e is Coming! Theory" Thread

I take all these "4e is coming" threads as ample evidence that 3.5 came out a little too soon: it did something to the d20 gamers psyche.

    Alchohol During A D&D Game?

Light consumption seems to be okay. More then 2 or 3 drinks playingh and Dming can suffer. I drink occasionally and once in bnlue moon someoen bringhsa micro bnrew six pack. All the folks that drive are careful, sometimes one of the players who is getting a lift from another player will be...
