Pshh... Dude that totally happened to me on the way to work this morning... twice (and I work from home.)

Yeah Like I said- I'm sorry it's not what you want. I'm happy with it so far, and feel like it's getting better. Sucks for you though. :)

    D&D 3.x 3.5 DM Considering 4E

I generally model this type of thing by limiting the number of total healing surges a PC has per day. I've been looking into a way to use the disease track to model long term injuries though. Like broken legs and stuff.

Oh definitely. I was mainly speaking of the DDi as a whole. I'm pretty sure they're working on the builder- also I have a feeling this tool in particular (adventure tools) is where we'll see things like house rules support implemented. Someone told me they were going to look into doing that...

0 Level Character Rules are up

There are other wizards and warriors and such around to teach them (npcs and stuff.) As for what makes them heres... Personally I'd rather the game didn't try to define that for me. My group and I can determine the how or why of it. The PCs aren't special because of the powers they have-...

Hey what can I say? Sorry you feel that way? I'm not gonna try to tell you you're wrong, or that you should subscribe or whatever. I'm just happy I don't feel the same way, and I'm overall happy with what I have, and looking forward to the future enhancements. :)

Well- sorry to hear it's not for you- that sucks. :( I know it seems crazy, since the math was changed so long ago, but as someone that deals with this type of stuff at work, I can almost guarantee the part that handles the math was done a long time ago, and once the math was changed the DDI...

That would be pretty awesome if they came out with a "Gamma World" style book that re-did character creation in this fashion.

There is- larger then the number of characters you can save, but smaller then I think it should be. I want to say around 40 or 50? I forget the actual number. This is mitigated though by the below: YEah- I think they talked about adding other options in the future? You can print though, so...

    Monte Cook back at wizards

Right- I forgot about the different editions before the most recent "reboot." Either way, it's been done before. The big reboot I mean.

I honestly don't think we'll see a new edition, or anything with a number in it for a very long time, if ever again. Numbers create stopping points. We're now moving to a ner version, your version is outdated. But releasing stuff akin to Essentials, and Gamma World adds to the whole thing. So...

White Wolf changed its flavor stuff with their change, and if I remember a good amount of how the rules worked too? D&D is kind of unique though in that when it's done a full on edition change it wants to vastly change the rules.

Something I've always wondered- what happens in a normal edition switch over? How many people end up moving to the new edition just because there is more support for it? How many people end up just quitting because they don't like the new direction, but there is no reason to keep bitching...

    Monte Cook back at wizards

This subject is interesting, and I think hard to define in normal terms, since it involved an edition switch. A couple of questions we'd need to know: 1. Were all of the people who now play Pathfinder actually customers of WoTC or were they simply playing some version of 3e? (For instance...

Different strokes I guess- I find it easier to use then the offline one personally, not that the offline one was "hard," this one just kind of flows nice for me.

I know 3.5 emphasized it more with the pictures and stuff, but I think maybe tht just solidified it in some people's minds? 3.0 relied on minis just as much, but like any other game if you were ok with some abstraction it worked ok without minis. When I first started, I was in the ugh minis...
