    Lava Cavern of Intense Burning

Incredibly cool. Sounds like a lot of work, but the final product is gorgeous, and I'll bet that encounter was super fun and exciting to play. You have very lucky players to have such a creative and dedicated DM!

    subdue rules?

I like this. There are a lot of ways that someone losing hit points or regaining them as a result of various different effects could be narrated in-game. It's cool to let the player choose this, if s/he wants to. One person could be nimbly ducking out of the way of serious harm, another could...

Footwork Lure & Unstoppable Advance interaction?

I like this kind of logic. I'd go with this.

    Winged Horde Flanking Question

No. Flanking is something that requires both allies to be doing it in order for either of them to benefit. If one person can't flank, neither can the other.

    Spreading XP around ...

Imagine how much XP weem would have if everyone could just give him XP for every post of his that they wanted to. He'd be like . . . level 30.

Your experiences: Are high level 'named' monsters too easy?

Well, it depends a lot on the mindset and playstyle of the players. Some people never really develop much system mastery or build powerful characters, no matter how long they play. Either because they don't care about that (maybe they're more of a social gamer, or more into roleplaying or...

Your experiences: Are high level 'named' monsters too easy?

I find that when discussing the difficulty or lack thereof of 4E, especially its published adventures or official encounter design advice, it's important to note that there's a very wide range of possible "power levels" for the PCs. This is true of most RPGs, of course, and was definitely true...

NEW (AGAIN)- Thunderspire Labyrinth- Stat analysis #25 Shrine to Baphomet

Apparently a lot of people have had a tough time with that Irontooth encounter. I've never run or played it myself.

    Lava Cavern of Intense Burning

Wow! That's absolutely amazing. How did you make it?

Creative combat objectives (other than "kill 'em all")

This thread contains some fantastic ideas, and deserves to be resurrected.

    WotC's Epic Adventures

It is not your imagination. He's kind of a joke.

Why is the Mule considered a Game Breaker?

This thread needs to go into the Archive-threads forum. That Muleonomicon post was pure gold, weem. Why, oh why, can't I give you more XP for that?

NEW (AGAIN)- Thunderspire Labyrinth- Stat analysis #25 Shrine to Baphomet

Shouldn't have been an opportunity attack when the kobold slid his ally. Forced movement never provokes.

Epic-Tier, or High-Level Gaming and You

This is a cool idea. I thought about doing something like this myself.

Why is the Mule considered a Game Breaker?

This thread is seriously delivering. I laughed at several of these posts, but sadly couldn't give out XP to everyone. I need to go stat out the "bootpiddle plopstep donkeyhorse" RIGHT NOW...

New User, 4.e and God questions.

Welcome to EN World, Evray! Don't worry too much about making any "social mistakes". This is a very friendly and helpful community. I think you'll be amazed at how great these forums are. You're right that Blade Cascade is definitely broken. In fact, it was one of the first powers errated...

    Does the shardmind seem overpowered?

I don't find them overpowered. They'd be really good in a Dark Sun game, though.

Epic-Tier, or High-Level Gaming and You

PCs are stupendously powerful at epic levels, and the monsters really . . . aren't. At all. If you had a group of newish players who hadn't much experience with D&D, weren't very tactically-minded, and had built pretty darn weak characters, then maybe standard official 4E encounter design at...

Why is the Mule considered a Game Breaker?

DMs just couldn't handle the power of the mule. It was a real pain in older editions. You had to totally plan your adventures around the presence of one (or more!!) mules. It made a lot of content completely trivial. Try running a published scenario with players who have a mule (or two!!)...

    Situational Enrichment

This is a cool thread. I like these ideas. And the story about the music and the tiger-man hunt and the way the players reacted is great. I've got a scene that I want to do in my upcoming game session, and this is the kind of stuff I'd like to have going on. I'd love some ideas. Basically...
