    D&D 5E (2014) Misty Step in manacles?

I believe this is why we have iron buckets as part of our Bag & Tag wizard hunting operation. They even come with chin straps. Well, bars...

D&D 5E (2014) Waterskins (apparently every adventuring party in history died of thirst)

This is why they brought: 2 camels A cleric with Create Water A cart for said camel (well, technically a sled. For sand..sledding..) Granted, the cleric would have sufficed, but he didn't want to ride a camel.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shatterspike in 5E: breaking an enemy's weapon

Could we add to the weapon's rules something like: - On a natural roll of a 1, the Shatterspike breaks, rather than the targeted weapon/object.

D&D 5E (2014) Where does optimizing end and min-maxing begin? And is min-maxing a bad thing?

For what is a gamer, what has he got? If not themselves, then they have naught. To say the things for teh feelz; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And I played it myy waaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

D&D 5E (2014) Should the game have extensive weapon lists?

I need more weapons like I need more cable channels.

    D&D 5E (2014) So I Nuked The PCs

In a gonzo campaign, no jaw shall be aloud off ofthe floor!

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Starter Spells; Plus UA Returning To Monthly & Sage Advice Returning

Tis nice, though personally, we weren't looking for yet more options for spellcasters.

    Judgement calls vs "railroading"

Honestly, it's a bit like the question doing the rounds in academic circles, 'What is a game?'. There's a lot of lengthy debate on the matter. But really, will knowing help us make a better game? Personally I doubt it but hey. But really, I do get the value in stepping back and attempted to...

    Judgement calls vs "railroading"

Alive. Country may not be after the vote but hey. I'll catch up with the swathes of text over the last couple of pages when I can. In the meantime, this description of play/style of play - what is it/are we calling it? I ask because it seems to describe how we run our D&D sessions, at least...

D&D 5E (2014) What PC classes to take to round out this party?

With enough damage already present, perhaps consider a Mastermind Rogue, focusing on Charisma rather than Dex. Invest in social skills and be sure to make good use of the Fighter & Cleric should you make it to 13th.. I'm playing one at the moment and it is a blast. You have minimal downtime...

    D&D 5E (2014) Redemption Paladin

As Arthur C. Clarke never said, ''Any sufficiently advanced mundane ability is indistinguishable from magic.'' :D Can't reply further at this time, many things. Imaro - you got me thinking, cheers! Take care all.

    D&D 5E (2014) Redemption Paladin

..or simply calming down long enough to entertain the other side's point of view and finally decide it has merit.

    D&D 5E (2014) First 5E PC Deaths

We had most of the party die. They ended up ..somewhere else, where they met the (living) warlock's patron (or something claiming to be/allied with), who sent them back to mortal realm with a message for the warlock, inscribed upon their souls. They are currently looking for a way to reunite...

    D&D 5E (2014) Redemption Paladin

I'd run it as magical, folks at my table are unlikely to mind much either way, though there's often a chat about freewill and the morality of charm spells. As for shifting the reaction - personally I'd prefer to codify the possibility of attitudes through the social skills - enough at least to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Redemption Paladin

At 5th, our lot were running from giant rats because - they're giant rats. With DISEASES! But mainly because they were roleplaying people who didn't want to be bitten by anything, least of all horrible rats. Granted, they don't really patch defeated foes all that much, but still - though they...
  16. Gardens & Goblins

    D&D 5E (2014) Redemption Paladin

I likes it. Thematically, there's more than enough wiggle room for folks to play it in a manner of ways. And technically there's enough crunch to keep a level of mechanical consistency between said ways. If folks don't like the theme or crunch of the class - heck, change it. Play it. Test it...
  17. Gardens & Goblins

    Judgement calls vs "railroading"

Emphasis is obviously mine. ''..as long as kids have been playing cops and robbers or cowboys and indians, they've been playing roleplaying games.'' We're all 'game designers' by and large. We've all had to entertain ourselves at some point during our lives. With practice, testing and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Redemption Paladin

Even ole' Mahatma Gandhi was aok with violence, if the alternative was cowardice, for a given context. A Redemption Paladin could have a similar set of beliefs - when violence, while not wanted, is better than some alternative considered to be much worse.
