    Wand of Accuracy

I did not see Mengu reply. Its curtainly more fun than how I viewed wand of accuracy and will likely use it myself in my game if it comes up.

    Wand of Accuracy

Nothing in Wand of Accuracy mentions using it to turn a miss into a hit. Furthermore its tone seems to speaks of it as an attack roll that has not yet been rolled. It also does not have any trigger or interupts that would allow it to be applied to a missed attack. Other powers are interupts...

Speeding up combat in 4th edition D&D (Reposted from general RPG area)

I have read somewhere on more than one occasion that Wotc estimates combat taking about 1 hour per fight. If initiative organization is taking too much time it should be possible for the DM to roll it in advance and have it set for the monsters and then just slot the PC's in where they belong...

    Wagon Overrun FTW!

Wagon attacks for a basic wagon would best be modeled as two attack against Reflex. The first would knock the target prone on a hit, with a secondary attack against reflex that would do damage reflecting the person being run over and crushed by the wagon after being knocked down. It wasn't the...

    Minion version of insubstantial/vulnerable monster?

Since this is a minion insubstantial cant serve its usual funtion of reducing damage, therefore I would eitlher treat it as some value of damage reduction or increase the defenses to make it tougher to hit. I would lean toward increasing the defenses by about 5 across the board. Or you could...

    Wizard Shield Ability

And in one of the WOTC DnD podcasts the second series I think Chris Perkins runs it just that way as well.

How meticulous can the planning be in a six-second combat round?

Indeed you are Sir and you shall be halled before the Naval Board of Inquiry over this matter. Of course I will be right there with you.

How meticulous can the planning be in a six-second combat round?

Group decision can be fun if its a cooperative group. Everyone is in the game all the time not just on there turn. There is a lot of fun in planing clever sencronized moves, and then there is suspense of a waiting on the die rolls to see if it comes off or misses. If its a bullying or...

    Are Duergar dwarves?

Is the player the reasonable type? If so have the player propose some feats and in game justifications / background for them, i.e. let the player flesh out the Duergar as a PC race for you.

    Sanity Checking some Monster Damages

Glowstones (AV) will nerf the Mad Wraith aura if the party has them in there inventory. Glowstones create a zone of light and radiant damage to undead until the end of the encounter. Radiant damage shuts down the Mad Wraiths aura for the turn. The Glowstone damages undead entering the zone or...

Monster Knowledge Check, Monster Roles? Minion or not?

The Dragon article in #375 suggest the house rule of refunding dailies wasted on minions where an At Will power would do, as a compromise in games where the DM kepts minions secret.

Monster Knowledge Check, Monster Roles? Minion or not?

Exactly right, your coming from the immersion roleplaying end of the spectrem. the Hero notices the dull rust knives and broken swords, poor armor, lack of confidence etc. to take in at a glance who is a minion. The opposite extreme has the DM just telling the players who's a minion what are...

Monster Knowledge Check, Monster Roles? Minion or not?

For anyone interested: Dragon #375 on DDI has a interesting article on game transparency, i.e. what the DM should tell the players. Minions being recognized as minions was one of the points discussed.

    Adent Champion. Rules lawyers required

if I understand Artoomis correctly he looks at his doubles and if they are not double 1's he has a crit. There is no need to test the doubles against the targets defense. Its already a crit. He's ending a step 3 for doubles not equal to 1. For doubles equal to 1 and none doubles he would then...

    Adent Champion. Rules lawyers required

Holy Ardor does not provide for an "automatic hit". It doesn't need to. "Automatic hit" is well defined (and doesn't tell you when you miss) and there are plenty of examples of other crits and hits that are not "automatic hits". (see also post 245) So not providing for "automatic hit" does not...

    Attacking a willing target

How about granting the same bonus to the monsters that you grant to your ally when they attack you and you desire to be hit. i.e. you are rendering yourself vulnerable to friend and foes alike.

    Flame Seed on the ground

Without checking I believe when attacking a invisible creature you pick a square to attack and attack the invisible creatures defense with a -5 for total concealment. If you hit the defense you have a hit only if you attacked the correct square.
