    Second best death scene?

Howzabout in Amadeus when Salieri is at Mozart's bedside writing down the Requiem as the music plays. Where it seems that the act of creating that piece was killing Mozart. Any then as the music is almost complete, the wife walks in and stops the proceeding, only to have Amadeus die before...

    Most versatile single class

While I admit a high level wizard is certainly versatile, they still have a few holes. At low levels they are quite fragile. They also don't have any healing capacity, which can be dire. Even at high level their hit points are going to be pretty weak (ie. at 10th level 20 less HP than a...

Games you want to play someday

    Most versatile single class

Cleric and Druid are really the only ones who could even be in the running (unless you include Favored Soul). They can pretty much do everything: Melee (Druids by wildshaping, Clerics by buffing spells) Blasting- plenty of offensive magic, though a bit behind wizards Healing- Big issue here...

    Leveless d20 . . .

Considering how divorced M&M is from levels in many ways, I suppose you could call it levelless D20. Sure, there are caps based on PL, but level gaining is not a huge part of the game, but I'd say those are only really to gauge challenges (which IMHO is a good thing). buzzard

    AvP getting ripped to pieces

Maybe some people think like you alledge, but I don't. My opinion is that if I'm going to spend money on a movie, I don't want to have to cringe at bad acting, bad writing, or plot holes that most aircraft carriers could fit through. However, I don't demand my money back. I never expect that...

    AvP getting ripped to pieces

OK let's clarify, $7 for the movie (matinee), drink and popcorn take me into the realm more close to $15. Sure, it's not a hell of a lot of money, but I can buy a DVD for that and watch a movie many times. Actually, if I watch prices, I can certainly get a DVD, soda (2 liters if I like) and a...

    AvP getting ripped to pieces

The only case in which Hollywood doesn't owe use a good movie, is if the movie is offered for free. Since I tend to be shelling out around $7+ to sit through a film, they damn well owe me something. They owe me $7 worth of entertainment. If they fail to give me satisfaction, I will fail to plunk...

    Just got Races of Stone

I picked this up Saturday. I've given it a cursory examination, and am currently doing the in-depth read at the moment. It seems pretty good. The Dwarven section is pretty good, but it seems like they decided to rebel against dwarves being greedy and made them into socialists. A bit...

    Breaking the Author/Reader Contract.

Julian May really ticked me off in the book Magnificat when she took the Metapsychic rebellion described in galaxy shaking terms in her Pliestocene Exile series, and turned it into a tempest in a teapot. It was pathetic. After reading The Nonborn King and The Adversary, you had the feeling the...

    How is a Monk viable?

In my experience Monks are survivors, but not much else. If I'm going to be in a party and I'm given the choice of a monk or a fighter as a comrade the fighter will always get the nod. I've played plenty of LG with monks present and they tend to be merely present. Then one other thing, when...
