    The best/most interesting NONfiction

Visions - Michio Kaku Really interesting book about future science. Covers stuff like AI, the Human Genome Project, and space travel in an easy to understand writing style.

    Ice, Luck and Honour

Excellent stuff! The woman in the red cloak sounds like she could be an interesting character. I'm dying to know more but I'll wait until the next episode - I wouldn't want to spoil the suspense. :D

    What are we all reading?

Wow, what a fantastic idea bookcrossing.com is! Thanks for the link - I'll definately try it. What a good way to pass on all the books I never seem to part with. I recommend others check it out too! :)

    What are we all reading?

Book wise I've just finished Bladerunner and Along came a spider, and I'm just starting Animal Farm. Comic wise I'm trying to get back into Spawn after a break of a few years, and Hell and Back which is one of the Sin City series. [Sigh] I always seem to have a huge pile of books waiting to be...

Why do so many people hate Voyager?

I'm not too sure why I hate Voyager so much. It just never really grabbed my attention like Next Generation or DS9. Plus I took an instant dislike to Janeway, again, not too sure why. I think maybe she was just such a let down as a female captain. They should have made Seven of Nine captain of...

How long have you been a member of this community?

Thanks all! :D You've made me feel really welcome. I often have a scout around the story boards. There's some really talented writers on there. I particularly like Ice, Luck and Honor and Small Beginnings. Both excellent stories. :)

    Book cover importance

The book cover is always VERY important. Even those people who have posted saying it's not, probably don't realise how much it influenced their decision. The cover is the first thing you see and you instantly make choices based upon it. You may find it interesting and pick it up to look closer...

How long have you been a member of this community?

Actually I haven't been a registered member that long. The site was recommended to me by a friend and I did a bit of lurking for a couple of months to see what the people were like who posted and what sort of reception women got (bad experiences have taught me to be cautious, and yes I'm a...

[UK] EN World GenCon UK Gathering

Saturday would probably be a good choice. It's generally when the most stuff is going on and people are usually able to be there, so sounds good. (just thought I'd butt in on your thread Zander, hope you don't mind - but you wanted opinions :) )

What is your favourite Trek series, and why?

I never reaslised Voyager was so unpopular before. I always thought it was just me who thought it was crap. Nice to see it's not :D

What song is this line from?

Only happy when it rains - Garbage :) "Just the bang and the clatter as an angel hits the ground"

What is your favourite Trek series, and why?

Hmm... Tricky one... The original series was fantastic - predictable, but fantastic. It was certainly more action orientated than any following series. Next Generation I grew up watching and so will always be good. Much more character orientated, with depth to all of the people and plots...

The Monk's Hit Dice Should Be a d8! [Rant]

Hmm.. can't agree with that. Whilst this would be true of some monks it is very easy to come up with a reason for them to be adventuring - in order to better themselves. Monks don't all have to be vow of silence in abject poverty types. Use your imagination! They are supposed to undertake...

The Monk's Hit Dice Should Be a d8! [Rant]

There's nothing wrong with monks!! I've been playing one for over a year and she's great. Admitedly they're not too hot on lower levels, but once they start getting the better feats and increased movement speed they're fantastic to play. Loads of fun, and especially useful when everyone is...

Did you know about D&D's reputation before buying?

Yeah I knew about it well before I started playing it. My mum and dad used to play when I was really little with a group who came over Monday nights. I used to find the little minatures fascinating, although I didn't understand much of it until I got older. It just looked like loads of fun. I...
