    I was also confused initially - I thought it meant you could only have 1 untyped bonus from a feat, 1 from a class feature etc. It took a whole bunch of re reading for me to realise that you cannot benefit from the same thing twice, but you can still stack untyped bonuses from 2 different feats...

    Err, OK. :erm: As for the OP, there is no requirement to roll all the dice at the same time. 1 set of dice each is ample (although I am of the school of thought that you can never have enough dice - I have at least 7 sets in my dice box, and many more at home :lol: )

    The numbers here show that there is nothing wrong with the monk at all - using his at will vs reflex attack he needs a 10 or 12 to hit all of the monsters in those encounters. With combat advantage that is a 8 or 10. Either it was just a really bad run of bad luck, or someone was doing...

    Yes the system is designed assuming that over the course of their adventures characters will increase their weapon, armour and neck items. This is built into the system. I've read that whole thread and I can't work out at all why all the proposed changes are a) needed and b) any better.

    Whay are you having to do this all the time? If you use the proper level monsters for the player's levels and they are equipped properly you shouldn't need to checking the maths for every encounter. Monsters that need a 17+ to hit are too high level.

    As others have said the secondary attacks have the potential to keep going, but I am curious as to how you came at the idea that it was capped at 3.

    What issues are you talking about, I am curious? The point raised in the OP is not an issue, the rule is clear. My group have not had any problems with ongoing effects.

    The overlevelled monsters sound fine (as long as it is not all the times). The other stuff with no magic items and always harder fights because you did well in one fight sound terrible. If you are having fun then I suppose it's OK, but I would suggest talking to the DMs about it - the game...

    Making a save before you have taken the effect is exaclty how it is meant to work. This is why abilities that give saving throws to other characters or Wardens font of life ability are really good.

    Question on paragon paths.

    When you get to 11 you choose 1 paragon path (or choose to paragon multiclass if you have spent the required feats). From that point onwards you get all of the abilities for that Paragon Path at the stated levels. There is no choice, you don't have to spend feats or anything.
