AV2 "Eldritch Panopoly" Magic Item Set

From the official FAQ: 12. Rogue weapon talent requires you to “wield” a particular weapon. What does this mean? Wielding means you must be using that weapon in the attack. Merely holding it while you attack with another weapon isn’t enough to qualify for any bonuses that result.

Coup de grace useless beyond Heroric Tier?

Isn't that exactly what everyone else has been saying for the past 3 pages?

Rain of Steel = being hit by an attack

Re quoting this as everyone seems to have missed it and it nullifies the whole argument.

AV2 "Eldritch Panopoly" Magic Item Set

I don't have the actual quote, but quite soon after 4th edition was released it was clarified that wielding was defined as attacking with a weapon. Simply carrying a weapon is not wielding it

    AV2 "Champions Symbol" Question

You only get the critical effect from an implement or weapon when you use that item to deliver the attack. If it was independent of weilding it would be a property.

D&D 4E Updating Tomb of Horrors to 4e...and 4e seems to wussy.

The DM has full control over weather the players can rest or not, even going by the rules you can only rest once every 24 hours. If you are going to all the bother of converting an old edition deathtrap dungeon to 4th edition then the players resting should not be a problem. From what I read...

    The "Bubble"

To counter the people who are seeing it as unintentional :) I'm not a WoTC designer, but as a professional designer of games it looks to me that it is intentional. D&D is not primarily designed as a 1 on 1 duel simulator. "The bubble" is not an issue in multiple person combat as the guy getting...

How does Explosive Spellcasting work exactly?

Each character only takes the normal damage once, but you could stack multiple crit specific damage such as dice from a magic weapon - or that's the way I read the feat anyway :)

    Implements and recurring damage

The striker is kill one thing quickly, the controller (damage anyway) should be kill lots of things slower but easier :)

Trigger: You are hit by an attack

It is indeed, but they are talking about Shield Shades the warlock spell, not Shield the wizard spell

    Summoned Armor?

What is this "giving Hasbro more money" thing you keep saying?

    Master of the Unseen Hand

Looks cool, although the sustain effect on the encounter power is too strong. I would suggest making it so that on a hit the player can choose to knock prone, push or grab the target along with a daze until end of your next go.

Forced Movement on a Prone Target

Movement that comes from someone else is never a shift - slide, push and pull. Shifting is a form of movement that a person does to themselves. You can shift whilst you are prone.

    Action points burning healing surges.

So under your system: In each combat you can either use an action point or a magic item daily You can't use an action point if you are out of healing surges. You will be reticent to use an action point if you are low on healing surges in case you need to be healed. Under the base system: You...

    Quiver size ?

We don't track ammo in our game, but I would guess quivers should have a capacity of 30, as this is the standard bunch of arrows available to buy.

    Wintertouched and Lasting Frost

There isn't really an issue - it works. I don't have rule book reference right now, but there have been loads of threads talking about this. Have a look back a few pages and you are bound to find one.

    Starting Gear House Rules

A few low level items are not going to solve this problem. It sounds like : Your players tactics are not too good (or yours are better) You are using too high level encounters You have misread some rules (a common one is starting hit points - you get your Con SCORE added to hit points at level...

    HELP! Avenger issue

Yes. Each character gets one immediate action per round (defender reaction to marks is this). Each character gets one opportunity action per other characters turn (defender reactions to marks is not this)

    Starting wealth by level?

Yeah the published adventures are a bit light on stuff, but any DM worth his salt will alter the items given out in a published adventure to match his party. Thunderspire has a magic shop built into the seven pillared hall, but if your DM doesn't like magic shops then he should compensate. The...

Stacking penalties, solos, and . . . *sigh* sadness. :(

We have found that solos work better when they are not on their own. We use solos of about the party level with a bunch of other monsters. Much better fights.
