    Disintegrate does not affect trees

There's a clause buried in the plant type: "Note that regular plants, such as one finds growing in gardens and fields, lack Wisdom and Charisma scores (see Nonabilities) and are not creatures, but objects, even though they are alive."

    Can intelligent undead read?

Ah, but you see: He's invested almost everything into his undead minions! The wizard, himself, becomes little more than a stumbling block... Oh, and it can also be done with a cleric-7. Needs: 1 feat, one method of increasing Rebuking level (there's a feat for that, and a few items), a batch...

    Can intelligent undead read?

Raising Wights isn't hard - any source of negative levels + Sacrificial Commoners will do it. Controlling them can be. "Simple" control is a 2nd level spell - same one you're using - and it's just a matter of how many castings (or chained castings) do you need to control that many? At...

Totemist has ruined me, or "Why Natural Attacks seem cooler than Weapon Attacks"

Warning: There are also a number of effects that hurt the attacker on a per-hit basis.

Totemist has ruined me, or "Why Natural Attacks seem cooler than Weapon Attacks"

I am reasonably certain that WHW4 was referring to Mutants & Masterminds, a gaming system of its own.

    Multiple Magical Crafters?

Huh, that's a change. Prior to the MIC, It Was: - no requirement for the person designated as The Creator to have the specific item creation feat - just to meet a requirement for the item (so a Wizard with Scribe Scroll could work with a Cleric without to make a Divine scroll of Cure Light...

Trying to find an unkillable scary clown monster...

Not a clue. Honestly, though, if I saw it, and it was that bad, I'd probably hate it. There's exactly one way to get rid of it, and it requires a very specific resource that most parties simply don't have. That strikes me as a rather awful design.

    Dungeons and Dragons and Data...

Wesley had a rather lot of variance to him. While drunk on what amounted to an alien disease (which also affected DATA, of all people...), he took over the ship from the engineering room, and did something another character told him would "take weeks of laying out circuits" in his head. When...

"Magic Aura" spell... for PERSONAL auras?

Err... when I mentioned the limitations on the variant vs. Misdirection, I mentioned "affects one spell". You even quoted me. ... you really don't see how it could get very useful? Granted, it's situational, but... Intimidation: Well, yes, your spells are telling you I'm under the effects...

"Magic Aura" spell... for PERSONAL auras?

So... basically you want Misdirection without a save, limited to one spell per casting? If it only affects one spell you're wearing, you've got a problem: The aura alteration spell itself will register (Magic Aura gets around this by way of it affecting the aura of the object). Probably 2nd...

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

Let's see... it's a full-casting PrC that basically any Wizard or Cleric can enter after level 9. We have... full casting, 3/4 BAB, cheap requirements (Skill ranks, casting, an alignment restriction, and being NOT undead), one good save, 4 skill points a level.... and an unspecified hit die...

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

Warning: D&D Wiki tends not to flag pages with where they came from. In the case of the Immortalist, it appears that D&D Wiki is the only source of the PrC, which basically means it's homebrew - not all DM's will like it. That's basically the idea, yes. It's still an Evil spell, so is itself...

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

Which is going to attract more people who'll try to kill you: The commoner that goes into a bar, buys beer for all his friends, and says "Hi, yeah, there's a guy who wants to live forever, and found a way to do it that doesn't kill anybody. Hurts like the dickens, but hey, he fixed everything...

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

Note that there's a few other restrictions when using that spell for longevity. As to victims, it's about one a year, and you can stop before killing them if you so choose (and then get a half-dozen Restoration spells for them).

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

Oh, the one written into the ability seems to be a holdover from 3.0, where there was no True Mind Switch, and the regular version of Mind Switch couldn't be dispelled or suppressed if one of the two died; they didn't update the text of Astral Seed between the two versions, even though they...

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

There's cheesy way of getting the effect sooner... although it slows down character growth considerably. Easier for a Shaper than a Telepath, though. First, you use a regular Mind Swtich on the thing you want to be. Second, you manifest Astral Seed while in the body you like. Third, you wait...

Search for Eternal Youth: Spells Alter and Polymorph Self

They stopped being specifically supported by the rules, so people started looking for methods that involved no house rules, making them relatively universal. Not that being ageless has any noticeable effect on game balance in roughly 99% of campaigns....

Need advice for upcoming Gestalt campaign

Oh, it can be that way - but consider: If you're wading into melee, you're not using many, if any, of those offensive spells you prepared. If you're standing there and Spelling opponents' doom, then you're not making much use of all those buffs you've cast. It's a build with two sides that...

Need advice for upcoming Gestalt campaign

Fails guideline 2 almost completely (both have the same primary schtick - casting spells - so you can't be both at the same time effectively, for the most part), and there's a lot of overlap between the Druid and Cleric spell lists. It'll work just fine, like most gestalt builds will (that one...
