    Terrain for battlemats?

Assembly is okay; I just don't want to devote a huge amount of time to the task (like molding my own pieces, painting them, etc.). Thanks.

    Terrain for battlemats?

What do you use for terrain for your battlemats? Right now, our group just draws things in dry-erase marker, but I'm looking for something a bit more interesting and 3D. What would be ideal for me is something inexpensive that doesn't require too much work to assemble (no molding my own...

    Silly question about spellcasting advancement

Okay, but is that stated anywhere, or is it just one of those common sense things?

    Silly question about spellcasting advancement

Okay, this is a case where I'm pretty sure I know how something is supposed to work, but I don't know if it's ever explicitly mentioned anywhere in the rules. Suppose I start-off in a spellcasting class (say 6 levels of Cleric), and then take levels in a prestige class that advances my...

    Deep gnome or Drow?

Definately not a drow, but I'm not convinced it's a deep gnome, either. Where's the big nose, for starters?

    Template to create fire elemental?

Are there any templates that may be applied to a normal creature to create a fire elemental version of that creature (like animals or the like)? I didn't see anything like that in the Monster Manual, at least; maybe something like this is in one of the other books?

    Lava damage?

So, if a creature is pushed-in, and is able to climb out as a full-round action, then it's 20d6 damage the first round, then 10d6 damage for 1-3 more rounds? Wow. Assuming 2 rounds as the average, that's 40d6 total, for an average of 140 points of damage. Ouch!

    Lava damage?

Are there any rules anywhere for how much damage a creature would take from being immersed ina pool of lava, or how hard it would be to get out? I was thinking of having a battlefield containing one or more pools of lava that either the PC or the bad guys could make use of for bull rush...

3.5 for the weapon variety for small characters.

What do you think of the Eberron-specific races?

Just curious about what most people's opinions on the 4 Eberron-specific races. How many of you are playing one at the moment? In general, I love the flavor of the new races, but I don't like how their mechanics shoe-horn them into narrow roles moreso than the standard D&D races (not counting...

    Best Warrior/Mage Combos

6 levels of the battle sorcerer variant from UA, 1 level of fighter, and the rest Eldritch Knight. The advantage of using battle sorcerer in this build is that they have a medium BAB and can cast spells in light armor. Take the Battle Caster feat from Complete Arcane, and they can use medium...

Armor Ability that Reduces Armor Check Penalty?

Well, I wouldn't exactly call 3 feats in exchange for a +5 armor bonus and no armor check penalty balanced. It seems like the mithril body feat is identical to the stats for breastplate armor made of mithril, but the armor check penalty is -2 instead of -1. Oh well; if I make a warforged rogue...

Armor Ability that Reduces Armor Check Penalty?

Are there any armor special abilities (preferably from a 3.5 source) that reduce the armor check penalty for that armor? My particular interest is reducing or eliminating the -2 armor check penalty for Warforged with the Mithril body Feat without having to burn two additional feats (!!!).

    Need an interesting barbarian idea

There's some great ideas here ... thanks guys. I had an idea for a barbarian/scout mix that would wear light armor, and make heavy use of his extra movement (+20') and the tumble skill, but I realized that you can't tumble while raging. :(

    Need an interesting barbarian idea

I'm likely to be playing in a new hopefully long-term campaign based in Eberron soon, and I was thinking of trying out a barbarian, since I've never played one before (in any edition). The problem is, I can't think of an interesting concept for such a character. The mental image that comes to...

    Fighter Revision

Actually it sounds like weapon focus is still a feat, since he said the benefits also apply to any weapon for which he has taken the weapon focus feat (which also means he can specialize in multiple weapons). Just WS GWF and GWS are removed from the list of feats. Presumably other classes...
