When will my group ever accept me?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I was really suprized to hear that her boyfriend went through the roof after learning about her gaming, and was wondering what the good news bit was. So for me at least, it was curiosity rather than knowing that the O.P. was ***GASP*** female!

Who still plays older versions of D&D?

None. I'd play/run a short 1E game if all my players wanted to for nostalga, or try OD&D just to see what it was like if the opportunity presented itself, though.

    battle sorcerer broken?

I think the battle sorceror would be a good basis for a Eldritch Knight build: FTR 1 / BS 6 / EK X. This will give a slightly better BAB, and the ability to cast spells in armor compared with the regular sorcerer or wizard builds. Add in the feat Battle Caster from the Complete Arcane, and you...

    Aging and Undead

This may be something that's not explicitly covered by the rules, but here goes. Two questions: * If a creature has aging stat modifiers due to old age, do these remain after becoming undead (say, a vampire)? I could see why the mental ones would remain, but not the physical. * If a...

One more *bump* for good measure.

    Age-related flaws and racial feats

Whoops, I guess it would be hard to qualify for that feat. :p How would you make Slow stronger, exactly? As-is, it will reduce movement rate to 10. Since they can't run, I guess that means they wouldn't be able to charge, either, so maybe I'll add that. Oh, and thanks for your feedback.

    The Un-iconics?

It also refers to a Dragon article by the same name, so maybe that's where I read it originally.

    The Un-iconics?

I remember reading an article somewhere that had a bunch of examples of unusual race/class combinations: half-orc wizard, gnome paladin, etc.; kind of an "un-iconics" rogues gallery. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Was it on Wizards website, or somewhere else? I can't seem to...

    * bump * Just thought I'd try one more time to get feedback / suggestions here. :)

I hope she didn't get scared-off by some of the posts in this thread. :\

    Age-related flaws and racial feats

Racial Feats Earth Born You have a deep connection to the earth, which makes you more resiliant. Benefit: You gain a + 1 natural armor bonus to your armor class and a +1 to all saves when you are in contact with the ground, or on any kind of stone surface (natural or worked). Favored...

    Age-related flaws and racial feats

Age-related Flaws Absent-minded You can easily lose your train of thought. Penalty: Before attempting any action that requires concentration or finesse, you must succeed at a DC 15 Will save. Success means that you perform the action normally. Failure means that you forget what you were...

    Age-related flaws and racial feats

I'll soon be running a one-shot where the PCs are high-level venerable dwarves that made-up a previously-famous adventuring party, but had been retired for nearly 200 years until forced out of retirement by events leading to the adventure I am writing. Anyway the PCs will be 16th-level, and...

Bard in Full Plate with 0% Spell Failure

Except that's not what I said, nor what I meant. Bards are jacks-of-all-trades, and some choose to specialize in a certain area. It's very easy for me to imagine dwarven bards taking on a more martial bent.

Bard in Full Plate with 0% Spell Failure

It's pretty easy for me to imagine this for a dwarven bard, at least.

Tell me that D&D 3.0/3.5 isn't really like this

Our group used to waste a lot of time looking-up obscure rules, but we've gotten better since then, partially because of knowing the rules better, and partially because we've all agreed as a group to let the DM do temporary rulings for that particular session to keep things moving if a rule...

Bard in Full Plate with 0% Spell Failure

Cool; that opens-up even more options then. Just taking the Medium Armor Proficiency feat would be enough without having to dip into fighter, or one could take a level of barbarian. I want to roll-up a martial bard now; maybe a dwarf (despite the CHA penalty). :)

Bard in Full Plate with 0% Spell Failure

I'd like to get others' input on the legality of this. Specifically, there's a feat (I don't remember the name) in Complete Arcane that lets arcane spellcasters wear armor that is one size category heavier than normal without chance of spell failure, assuming that they can cast spells in armor...

Unpolite and happy about it! UPDATED 11/04/05

Yeah, perhaps I was being too nice when I suggested that. Second chances should only be given to people who didn't intend to be jerks, but the muffin incident at least was clearly deliberate rudeness.

    My Avatar is Awesome

I'm not thrilled with mine. It's Brak from Cartoon Planet, which is all well and good, but I want something Gnomish instead. I do have an idea, but I'll require a working scanner, and I'm not 100% sure it'd be permissible. Specifically, a long time ago I had a 2e article published titled "The...
