    Bloodlines?

Basically nothing else in D&D is multiplicative. Why on earth would a DM rule that bloodline levels are tripled for a single character level, or whatever? That doesen't even sound reasonable. Just like taking an arcane PrC does not add double caster levels for the same arcane casting class.

Druids and Wand of Enlarge Person

Enlarge person could work on the druid if he could find a way to use the wand. Assuming your using the errata version. Enlarge person is way less abusive on your average druid then Animal Growth anyways, so no biggie. However if cast from the wand, or a scroll, or ring, or any other magic...

    Multiple AOOs against full-attack action?

'full attack actions' do not in themselves provoke attacks of opportunities. But what you do while you are taking one can. In this case, making a ranged attack in a threatened square. Generally that is a bad idea...its especially bad if you do it against someone with combat reflexes. By the...

Funniest thing a players character ever did?

Rogue in our party sat on a throne and tried to 'use magic device'. It was described by the DM to be made of black bones and radiating powerful evil. Hrmmmmmm. A different character in a different game decided to go toe-to-toe with a Wight we encountered. The same encounter included an...

Perfect Two Weapon Fighting and Rapid Shot

Seems pretty clear that P2WF is not intended to give 2 bonus attacks, simply because of non-specific synergy with Rapid shot. It's supposed to be 1 feat for +1 attack, just like other feats in the chain do. It is worded ambiguously though. I wouldn't allow a haste spell would give you 2 extra...

    How do YOU crit?

'Roll all the dice (so a crit with a x3 weapon that does d8 base damage means roll 3d8) and add the non dice bonus damage, multiplied (following the example, you'd triple it), then add any extra dice damage once. I'm not sure which option is represented by that.' What Streamofthesky said...

    Tomb of Horrors character

Jack I don't think that is careful enough. There's still a good(better than good) Chance that the character will die.... >.< Probably best to just use an unseen servant and an adamantine spoon and excavate the entire place from a safe distance on the outside. Might take you 20 or 30 years...

    Character Build Help

I dunno....casting 9th level spells at 14th level. Sounds about as powerful as one could reasonably hope.

    Psychic Warrior Powers

Psychic warriors already have it pretty awesome just with the XPH though. They don't really NEED anything else to be strong. The whole XPH is strong. I think the psionics handbook II has new powers and whatnot. But I personally didnt think that book was very good. The Prcs were all strange...

    Monks Broken or Not

Letting monks use wis mod for hit/damage sounds ok if it scaled slowly. But I wouldnt recommend letting them use it for all strength related checks. Seems like a drastic overcompensation. Entirely taking out one of their standard ability scores. I knew I had seen the monk example with INA...

    Monks Broken or Not

When I consider the option of giving new powers to players, I don't balance those powers against the strongest 3 classes from the core rules (cleric wizard druid). I think fighters are THE weakest class in core, which is sad considering how bad bard and monk both are in core. I've never...

    D&D 3.x Pathfinder smite in 3.5

Sounds ok to me...as long as you also re-balance his other feats to the pathfinder norms...IE power attack etc. I'm still more scared of the mounted combat abuse the charge rules paladins that basically disintegrate anything weaker than elder wyrms on impact when they hit you. Or any melee...

    Monks Broken or Not

Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but I wanted to reply :) Spellcasters get to unleash their full fury on the world, a very limited number of times per day, mostly at a safe distance so they can protect their anemic hitpoints. Their spells are super powerful but they are balanced by their...

    Monks Broken or Not

Doesn't the NPC monk in the DMGexamples have improved natural attack after a certain level? Superior unarmed strike and monks belt should stack just fine...neither are named bonuses, and they are obviously different sources. Throw in a monks tatoo for extra fun. I can sorta see how it could...

Can you use skill focus to achieve other feats?

Sorry that I can't be more precise, but I can sorta answer your last question. There is an item that prevents you from being transformed, but I do not recall what source it was from. My brain is telling me it was something from second edition, but like I said I don't recall exactly. It was...

    Becoming a God.

Level 18 isn't nearly bad-ass enough to become a god. Level 18 isn't even bad-ass enough to become an epic-level character. A whole troop of level 18 characters shouldn't even be able to stop the wimpy avatar of a god. Much less have a hope of invading their home plane, beating their legions...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Voluntarily reducing area spells?

It's a metamagic feat called sculpt spell. Or it is an Archmage class feature called Mastery of Shaping. If it we possible to do it normally, there would be no need for these abilities to exist. Also thats kind of a built in limitation on a lot of spells. You don't throw a lightning bolt...

    Iron Heart Surge interpretation

In any sane, fair minded, semi-grounded game Iron Heart Surge requires liberal editing by the DM/player so as not to be abused/broken/nutty wrong. an condition or effect covers a VERY broad list, and is WAY too strong for a 3rd level maneuver. For instance....grappled is a condition. Being...
