Have You played In An Official D&D Adventurer's League Event?

No, never will. I play lots of PFS (and GM too), for a variety of reasons, so its not the Adventure League issue... its solely a 5e/WotC issue. However, many of the comments of AL that have been expressed apply equally as well to PFS.

D&D Psionics Survey; Plus "First Major Mechanical Expansion" Coming?

Maybe a mechanical update will mean I can learn a new skill later in the adventuring "career" (and no, tools don't count) without needing a feat (especially since they are optional).

CONAN Kickstarter Closes On End; Unlocks d20 to 2d20 Conversion Guide Plus All Conan d20 PDFs

How about a 2d20 to d20 conversion guide? Yeah, that'd be real good by Crom.

No WotC At Gen Con This Year?

Nah its that they haven't been able to compete with paizo the last couple of years, so tucked tail and ran.

No WotC At Gen Con This Year?

Haha. Limit budget, whatever. It says a lot that they won't be there.

D&D Increases Its Lead In Orr Groups Q3 2015 Report

And how many of these 'games' are actually games that are being played, versus some signed up for for and never really went anywhere. I'd much rather see stats on 'completed' games, if someone can arrive at a definition for what is completed.

    d6?!

Thanks for the reply...:) Well, there is always 'alternate mechanics' and 'house rules' I suppose. :) Is space combat 2d or 3d (or psuedo-3d)?

    d6?!

I'll admit I finally got around to looking at this. After all the first thing I was struck with out of the box when reading the starter kit was, "hey this is WEG's d6 system without the pips". Which was actually an exciting thought! I have 1st and 2nd Ed WEG SW and love them, all the...

D&D 5E (2014) The Official Poll! What THREE things do you like most about D&D 5th Edition?

I choose "I like nothing about D&D 5th edition" not because there aren't a few things. Adv/Dis is sorta interesting but limited (it is nice to remove all the +2/-2, +4/-4s, etc. from the game, but being limited to a single advantage is for the birds), the bounded accuracy is a nice touch as...

    Is the "Conpocalypse" Nigh?

Its not like Indy is Chicago where if you aren't close you are screwed. There are plenty of perimeter hotels available and getting downtown takes nothing.. again it ain't Chicago. Get it for those 8am games/etc and you can easily find space in the CircleJerk parking; granted 20 bucks a day...

How Much Gaming Took Place At Gen Con?

Yup... it was pretty darn full, especially for Thurs and Friday night specials! My only real issue is that I still haven't seen all my games posted (grrr); several other folks I game with in variety of groups have same issues. The Catalyst room was packed every time I walked by, and was...

D&D 5E (2014) Ed Greenwood to write 5E's Forgotten Realms

I fail to see what all the hub-bub is about. I mean it is just a setting; its not the best, certainly not the worst (personally I dislike Eberron more). Don't like it? Don't play in it. Otherwise use what you want and ignore the rest. Personally my group uses FR because we've all read...

    Jonathan Tweet talks "13th Age"

Not going to lie, this sounds horrific to me. Perhaps I'm just a gronard that has been playing AD&D+ ON BATTLEMAPS since the early 80s, but this thing sorta irks me right off. "Players spend more time imagining the battles in their heads and less time counting squares." That is just closed...

D&D Next Chat Transcript (Mike Mearls & Jeremy Crawford)

No, really it doesn't. And even if you did, as another poster put it, you've stretched it well beyond the definition it holds in the context of 4E. But hey, more power to ya.

D&D Next Chat Transcript (Mike Mearls & Jeremy Crawford)

Yes, yes it was. Neither wizards nor sorcerers ever had an "at-will" magic missile or anything of the sort; not until much later in some of the 3.5 splat books and even that fell far short of what 4e has described. And really there is no good reason a rogue can't have the exact same melee...

D&D Next Chat Transcript (Mike Mearls & Jeremy Crawford)

They did the same thing back when 3rd and 4th editions were released, so it really isn't surprising.

D&D Next Chat Transcript (Mike Mearls & Jeremy Crawford)

"Here's another thing - with stuff like paralyzed, we're dealing more in describing what happens rather than trying to make everything mechanical. So paralyzed says that you can' t move your limbs. Spellcasting specifies that you need to move your arms to cast a spell. Thus, a paralyzed creature...

Can you write code/modifications for vBulletin?

Since it's been paid, I'd ask for references and/or examples of existing working (should be at least PHP based, if not vBulletin; should also be familiar with whatever database you are using; I'll assume MySql). Definitely structure it with contracts that outline time frame, milestones, etc. as...

On 5E Skills (aka How Game System Affects Immersion)

Can I rinse and repeat my answer? Maybe I've been isolated, but I've never actually set in on a game anywhere (including GenCon) where there was a lot of "immersive acting" going on, but rather everything was in game terms even with games such as Amber (ya, boo, ya, boo, ya, boo). Any prose...
