Cypher System by Monte Cook Games: what do you think about it?

What 4e are you referring to? D&D 4e? I'm not sure

Cypher System by Monte Cook Games: what do you think about it?

No, it actually doesn't. It's a medium crunch game, that shifts some GM actions around, and allows for the "I have a neat idea to add a complication". Monte is one of the authors of D&D 3rd edition, I would imagine after that process he wanted a lighter dungeon crawl game that relieved the GM...

A TSR Announces a Star Frontiers Reboot

It's a % system very similar to Star Frontiers. There are humans, and 3 aliens ( I think). Lots of gear, vehicles, ships, psionics, etc. There is that Frontier Explorer mag with extra stuff, gm screen, and a handful of modules\scenarios to get as well. Great looking books, and extremely...

A TSR Announces a Star Frontiers Reboot

A second nod for FrontierSpace, and conversion stats for the Star Frontiers aliens to FrontierSpace are in Frontier Explorer mags, issue 23, all on DriveThruRPG. Why cling to the past?! FrontierSpace is an updated homage, and all the SF scenario books work with the system without too much trouble.

Cypher System by Monte Cook Games: what do you think about it?

Get the Rules Primer for a quick look https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/231653/Cypher-System-Rules-Primer and Cypher Shorts https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/291832/Cypher-Shorts You should be able to get some good ideas from these supplements about what to expect. Also, I would say...

Another Year of EN World Demographics!

Oh goodness, I'm a seven-percenter!! Very happy to see that the hobby is growing and has young blood to keep it alive! I'd love to know the % of adults who got their kids into it, and they actually pick up the hobby versus just humoring us. :P

    Products That Overwhelmed You

It's a bit of a ridiculous system, and I'm one who LOVES Rifts! It's easy enough to house rule, which I've done. Not going to go over it here though. The basic non-RIFTS system is pretty decent though. Lots of back and forth, but can make for very exciting combats.

    Products That Overwhelmed You

I gave up on GURPS 4th ed too. Overwhelming trying to take in all the nuances. A lot to digest when reading. 3rd ed has a nice casual tone, great setup, and was easier to get into. 4th is a boring read, but a great reference though. I liked 3rd ed, A LOT! I have a bunch of monster books...

D&D 5E (2014) Two New D&D Books Revealed: Feywild & Strixhaven Mage School

Agreed on the comments regarding the Witchlight cover. Not interested in a "spooky or weird" circus. The MtG setting....ehh...have to see. I've yet to come back to Ravnica sine the purchase.

Starfinder Adventure Path #33: Dominion’s End Review

I'd love to hear about more APs - Dawn of Flame, Signal of Screams, Threefold Conspiracy or Attack of the Swarm. (apologies if you've covered these and I've missed them)

Grim Hollow: The Monster Grimoire: An Interview With Jordon Gibson (Ghostfire Gaming)

It absolutely is a golden that exceeds the 3.x era, in quality and quantity. WotC, much like last time, is either doing nostalgia (Ravenloft\Salt Marsh, etc) or rule companions. Which is fine, it's needed and good stuff. The really interesting stuff is coming from 3PP. The genre derivations...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Legendary Adventures, Inferno, Trinity Continuum, and more

Dark Energy sounds fun, I'm inclined to read the novels. I'll see if there's PDF only at least.

    Paizo Product Roundup: March

This whole selection is just great! Alien Archive 4 is solid, the Ancestry Guide, as stated above, fantastic, and Gauntlight should prove to be a fun 3 part AP.

Review Roundup: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything

I found the book was fine. It get me too wound up, but it's....fine. Just like in the D20 heyday, third party supplements are almost always head and shoulders above WotC.

    My Gaming Goals for 2021

Some similar ones here too. I plan on backing far fewer kickstarters this year than I did in 2019 and 2020. So many from 2019 were late, and by the time they arrived, many still I have not, I have either moved on from the system, or no longer had interest in it or no longer wanted. Trying...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Southlands, Voyages of the Vagabond, Calo’s Book of Monsters, and more

Some good stuff here! I'm backing Wren's Guide and the NPC Allies & Enemies. These types of things are immensely useful and can be ported over to different campaigns. Thanks for the updates!
