    D&D 5E (2014) I Ran the Yawning Portal's Tomb of Horrors

I was reading the Demilich entry in the MM, as its regional effects are probably the closest to something like this. You can't teleport with the intention of leaving the tomb, but you can teleport around within it. (It also has the ability to arbitrarily throw necrotic damage at creatures...

D&D 5E (2014) What non-Western campaign settings do you want to play or run in?

I really want to add some mesoamerican flavour to my games. Right now though it's more like the Sunset Invasion DLC for CKII than a proper mesoamerican game, with the Yuan-ti (led by an Anathema) using a proxy war to take over a chunk of the game region and establish a colony.

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls interview - states that they may be getting off of the 2 AP/year train.

Probably not; from the previews I've seen, Starfinder seemed to lean towards "generic sci-fi using Pathfinder rules," while Spelljammer fills a completely different niche.

D&D 5E (2014) What is Iymrith's full plan? (spoilers for Storm King's Thunder)

I seem to recall from his panel at Gamehole in 2015 that CoS and SKT were written to be shorter so that people could either complete it in a more timely manner, while those that do complete it in a timely manner could run it with another group. I wouldn't be surprised if they were also trying to...

D&D 5E (2014) do you still roll for damage?

Depends on how many NPCs. If there's a mob, I'll just average it; if there's about less than 6, I'll roll.

    D&D 5E (2014) Let's Talk About Yawning Portal

From what I've heard, that's the one trap that still insta-kills in the new tomb.

    D&D 5E (2014) Let's Talk About Yawning Portal

From what I've heard from others reading it (my book's still in the mail), it sounds like it's less deadly in that there's more times to notice something's off, roll saves, does damage instead of death, but it also has the damage cranked up enough that it's still easy to lose a character if...

[UPDATED] WotC & Goodman Games Partner To Reprint Classic Modules for 5E

Now that I've read how Goodman Games intends to expand the adventure beyond the available material, I'm curious to see how it'll look. What's in the Cave of the Unknown? Will there be other locales than just those two? Is the Caves of Chaos still going to be the centrepiece, or will it just be...

[UPDATED] WotC & Goodman Games Partner To Reprint Classic Modules for 5E

I hope there's a digital edition as well, so that it'll be easier for myself to obtain. (And also that it releases soon, as I have the caves of chaos in my next D&D game)

"Dust" and "Midway" - Codenames for Upcoming D&D Hardcovers

Assuming that the codenames have relation to their products. I'm pretty sure Dagger was not designed to hint at SKT.

    D&D 5E (2014) I hate rapiers. Do you?

I wonder if the problems of D&D 5e aren't caused by any one stat being too good, but rather that it was designed under the assumption that you'd have stats lower than what is reasonable to obtain. DEX wouldn't seem all that godlike if it was hard bound to a +3 (as I seem to remember discussion...

    D&D 5E (2014) I hate rapiers. Do you?

Alternatively: Sidesword. Later period sideswords were basically arming sword blades mounted on Rapier hilts. EDIT: In fact, there's even some swords which blur the line between sidesword and rapier (while to the best of my knowledge sidesword as a specific weapon category is a more modern...

Check Out The First 3 Pages Of TALES FROM THE YAWNING PORTAL

I remember on the Dragon Talk episode that came out on the announcement, Chris Perkins said something to this effect in the Lore You Should Know segment. Not so much that players are expected to descend the well, but that Undermountain having planar doors made the Yawning Portal an iconic and...

Yeah, my initial post assumed familiarity with the Dragon+ thread from a little while back, where the preview originated. No worries.

Check Out The First 3 Pages Of TALES FROM THE YAWNING PORTAL

From the Tomb of Horrors Preview they continue to acknowledge Greyhawk. There's a sidebar where they list the original six locations Gygax provided, before listing off locations for Eberron, Dragonlance, and the Realms. The actual text of the adventure outside the sidebar is location neutral...

New Dragon+ (issue 12): The Inspiration Issue

Well, if an inn can have adventurers travel between the various planes in the multiverse, I wouldn't be surprised if it enabled those adventurers to time travel either.
