D&D 5E (2014) Adventures In the Astral Sea?

Yes I am a player so no spoilers for the Astral Sea suggestions (please), just something I am passing on to our DM to check out. Thank you those are great suggestions!

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures In the Astral Sea?

We are about to end Tomb of Annihilation, which has been a fantastic adventure. Likely we're ending (spoilers ahead): We're going to intentionally put a bag of holding in a portable hole, create a gate to the Astral plane, and intentionally get sucked into the Astral Sea to escape certain...

D&D General Why grognards still matter

I don't see how you can read the original post and conclude that's the perspective you're responding to.

D&D General Why grognards still matter

    1) I didn't read anything in his post that was "insisting" 2) I didn't read anything in his post that ranked a segment as mattering more, just that it mattered.

    D&D 5E (2014) HOUSE-RULE: Options for Two-Weapon Fighting

Why not adopt the weapon mastery rules for a 2014 game? I think they're great. Very nice option that fits well in a 2014 game. I mean, you literally replicated one of them in your options list.

    D&D 5E (2014) HOUSE-RULE: Options for Two-Weapon Fighting

Nick solved this issue. Just adopt it for your 2014 game.

    Spoilers Cobra Kai Final Episodes

I love that in this alternate universe, my home is somehow the center of the world. It's absurd. They drove down most of the streets within a mile of where I live, showing places we have gone to many times, as if they were famous places when really only people who live here or grew up here would...

They could use a Detect Magic in there somewhere.

    Basic D&D, Holmes Edition - a review

Me! This was my first edition. I still have my very worn copy. My brother and I consumed that thing in 1978 or 1979. We did not find it terrible rules or convoluted.

D&D 5E (2024) Wild Magic Sorcerer is Best Sorcerer Subclass

It's stuff you won't use on most adventuring days. Great for a Wizard, but pretty bad for a sorcerer with how limited their spells are. When they could be swapped out, those spells were routinely swapped out for more general use spells. Mind Sliver is fine. Calm Emotions is too rare to be one...

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

It's a joke, in poor taste, but also inaccurate. None of these recent fires were in a forest. They were brush fires and not forest fires.

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

I found this list interesting. What were the most streamed shows of 2024? “Bluey” - 55.62 billion minutes “Grey’s Anatomy” - 47.85 billion minutes “Family Guy” - 42.44 billion minutes “Bob’s Burgers” - 36.8 billion minutes “NCIS” - 35.91 billion minutes “Young Sheldon” - 32.08 billion minutes...

D&D 5E (2024) Paladins can Smite on Ranged attacks (with thrown melee weapons) now!

I'd love to see a well constructed Rogue/Paladin dagger thrower. Smiting and sneak attacking with throwing daggers would be awesome in my opinion.

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

Nobody cares about that anymore. Nerd titles have dominated the charts for over a decade now. Nerd names broke through that barrier long, long ago now. If it gets good buzz and is good, people will watch. If it doesn't, they won't. The name will not make or break anything. I mean, if "Battlestar...

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

We have no evidence on this topic. Zero. Zero to do with a TV show. And he isn't even arguing about the name. He wasn't even commenting on the name. He's assuming the live action streaming show will fail, and claiming we have had many attempts at that when we've had zero. Bet on the name...

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

The choice isn't "sycophant or not." You're starting out, with zero information, assuming the worst. And making claims like "we've had a few attempts at this" when we've had no attempts at this. That's not logical. Neutral would make sense. But going in assuming the worst? Not logical.

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

Romanticy was popular but peaked and is now on the downswing, and book publishers have started to shift to somewhat more traditional fantasy in their announcements. This does not mean Netflix is up on their publication trends though, as it's a rather recent shift and Romanticy dominated for many...

D&D 5E (2024) Paladins can Smite on Ranged attacks (with thrown melee weapons) now!

It's a melee weapon being used to make a ranged attack. A melee attack and a ranged attack is not the same as a melee weapon and a ranged weapon. As the thrown description you posted says, it's still a melee weapon even if it is thrown.

So what would a build look like centered on a thrown weapon Paladin?
