Elon Musk Calls for Wizards of the Coast to "Burn in Hell" Over Making of Original D&D Passages

Another thing people are missing with this is: Time Exists. Maybe people do remember Gary fondly. Maybe he got better. But there was a point where he said some out of pocket stuff and it did find its way into his works. You know what? Same thing happens to me. I grew up in the 90's where being...

please explain the standards of what constitutes a 'legit history book' beyond 'I don't like and/or believe the history it presents'.

Elon Musk Calls for Wizards of the Coast to "Burn in Hell" Over Making of Original D&D Passages

Okay, but hear me out: what if we ignored history when it says things we don't like about people we like? Like, never examine anyone sufficiently famous so we can always feel good about them and never, ever reexamine our formative media and ideals? Maybe even never progress in the attitudes...

Speaking of the number fo real actual people on Twitter the everything X: how's that getting rid of all the bots he used as a figleaf to justify wasting all that money going?

It was actually a revelation for me when it became apparent that our own planet had provided thousands of goofy creatures to rival any D&D monster. Most of them were crocodiles or sharks.

Elon Musk Calls for Wizards of the Coast to "Burn in Hell" Over Making of Original D&D Passages

I like how last time this topic came around, we had to let it go because 'Gary was a product of his time' and now it's 'he was actually progressive'. And it's always, ALWAYS ignoring what the man actually says. You can tell a narrative is true when it evolves to fit the situation.

Megafauna everywhere! Triceratops are a common beast of burden alongside ankylosaurs. Tyrannosaurs stalk the foothills. Utahraptors (renamed to equiraptors) are mounts and velociraptors are hunting beasts. And beyond the Mesozoic, megatheriums are warbeasts for elves, gastornis are also...

Doesn't add to anything good either. Which is weird because this choice was made by the company that brought us tapping the power of your homeland or an innate, rare spark of creation buried within your soul to power spells. But nope, Proper Noun is all we get. We don't even get concepts of how...

D&D General A glimpse at WoTC's current view of Rule 0

Hell if I know. It's a play on the whole 'pawn/actor stance' , 'combat-as-war/sport/entertainment' terminology that gets tossed around here as if everyone knows and cares about it with a definite air as to which ones are the good ones. Our lot thinks jargon makes us more important while we're...

That's odd, considering I associate the whole 'apple pie stance', 'ham sandwich-as-combat' terminology with older school play, not modern story-based play.

D&D 5E (2024) The new Warlock is so much better Thematically

Yeah, making every class expressly not start to adhere to the player's concept until level 3 is a major sticking point for me. Just one more reason levels 1 and 2 don't matter anymore when I want to tell stories that aren't explicitly zero to hero.
