    D&D 5E (2014) WotC On Tasha, Race, Alignment: A Several-Year Plan

I'm all for retconning the racism and sexism out of DnD. I like more character options as a general principle. But when the Halfling takes a racial Strength bonus and the Minotaur does not, I'm out. Sorry, but that just makes no sense to me.

D&D 5E (2014) A First Look at Tasha’s Lineage System In AL Player’s Guide - Customizing Your Origin In D&D

So it's basically doing away with the concept of racial bonuses? Kind of like the move from Oblivion to Skyrim?

Yeah, I'll call it 'The Warlord'

    Lessons Learned from Virtual Gaming

"Roll 20 is great if you want to use tactical combat and figures. It's pretty much the only one that does." Have you heard of Fantasy Grounds?

D&D 5E (2014) The Dead Milkmen's D&D Adventure: Lost Tomb of the Bitchin' Chimera

Best crossover since the Dayglo Abortions did The Spawn of Yog Sothoth. Monk/bard nil!

D&D 5E (2014) Kate Welch on Leaving WotC

I agree that the new user experience is not great. Part of the problem, IMHO, is that 5e is designed as a nod to nostalgia rather than a guide for new players. Each class has its own mechanics, so even after playing a Fighter you have no idea how to play a Wizard. I've run first D&D sessions for...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Kingmaker Definitive Edition Now On Consoles

Thanks, jsaving. By the way, what is the PF2 Bard like? I ask as someone who somewhat dislikes the Bard in most previous editions and games, so I'd like to see someone doing the Bard right.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Kingmaker Definitive Edition Now On Consoles

Oh yes, it is certainly far easier to stick with the current ruleset. I just find it surprising that Paizo wouldn't intervene and say, 'Here's some money; please make the game with the current ruleset.'

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Kingmaker Definitive Edition Now On Consoles

I'll be playing on consoles. Is it possible just to turn up the difficulty to compensate for playing turn-based?

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Kingmaker Definitive Edition Now On Consoles

Yes, I was surprised to see the sequel (Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous) which is still in development will use the PF1 rules. That made me sad, because I was looking forward to trying out the PF2 rules.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Kingmaker Definitive Edition Now On Consoles

I loved Baldur's Gate and all the old D&D games, as well as Divinity 1 and 2. I'm trying to get into Pillars of Eternity right now, and it is a little harder to love on my part. So I am looking forward to trying Kingmaker. To anyone who has played it: I prefer turn-based to...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

Who would have guessed that just ignoring mechanical problems exist, invoking nostalgia to paper over systemic issues, and foisting all the hard choices onto the individual DM's would be a poor strategy in the long run? They threw the 4e baby out with the bathwater. That's their choice, but...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I didn't mean to imply he was; maybe I worded that poorly. In any case, I just wanted to register that I would still like to see species/folks get specific stat bonuses that reflect their inherent characteristics, like Str for Minotaurs. I think you can still do that while you are stripping...
