i run OD&D(1974) pretty much the same way i did 30+ years ago. i use a broader vocabulary and i have more tricks. but the style is almost exactly the same.

the red box was just another poor imitation of the real thing. i had OD&D(1974), 2 versions of Holmes, and Moldvay along with 1edADnD by the time the red box came out. OD&D(1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just poor imitations of the real thing.

i am a good little devil. so i swapped the b for a g. i have used this name on a number of bulletin boards, newsgroups, and fora since 1996.

i've tried a lot of games with a lot of new people. i would say 5% have been great, 15% have been excellent, 30% have been avg to good and the last 50% have been gawds awful. of the 50% most of those have been at convention sponsored events or game stores but a few i actually drove to their home.

did you serve under Napolean in the artillery? or did you at least play with Napoleanics before trying roleplaying games?
