Did you calculate this with the listed damage value of 20 for the glaive? Because that appears to be an error. 1d10 + 4 is in fact an average of 9. Not 20. O_O I would guess the defensive CR was counted as 5 because it's only 1 AC above expected for CR 5 (143 hp is in the 5 range), and since...
