After carpetbombing Gencon last year with hype, for what it's worth now it looks like WotC won't even be at this year's Gencon (albeit out of their control). It's just ironic to me.

To stay relevant to the greatest part of his audience I would say he'll switch. It might even get the comic back to basics b/c lately IMO its too thick in plot to the point it doesn't matter what edition is being talked about.

The paragon paths really exposes how bad a name Warlord is for a newb 1st Level character. In every game, book or newspaper I've ever read a warlord is top of his profession not entry level. The Battle Captain thusly would work under him. Even the martial term battle is subserviant to war. The...

Call me oblivious or confused but my first reaction to this being a 'new class' was: Sword/mage=Spell/sword. I'm sure theres a difference but it hardly seems unique to me on the surface.

Purely going by the high level spells we've been privvy to so far, the maximum room dimension would be 20 squares. I'd be interested to see how the ranges of lower level iconic spells like Fireball (normally with an outrageous range in previous editions) match up. For dungeon crawls the ranges...

Sweet album covers, but if those are how Faerun will look, does that mean the outer planes now look like a Renaissance earth? Doubtful, but I normally reserve the weird and fantastic terrain for the outer planes. I guess one could go to the other extreme and have the planes resemble surrealist...

This is actually a concern I would have with them breaking the Draco's into two books. The Fiendish Codexes were written by different authors. The first did well, I own it, many people I know have it, but I didn't see much glowing praise for the second one for various reasons thus I skipped it...

Draconomicon was hands down my favorite book of all 3rd edition. This is just bad. To put it in my own words, 3e- the more complicated system got metallics, chromatics and more in one book, yet the supposedly more streamlined system-4E, can't. No, it can. It just won't do it. Hmm.

Hmm I like the green dragon illustration better unfortunately. All I truly hated about the old cover was the color bands that trapped the image. At least they took note of that and started to 'magazine overlap' the illustrations with the title bars.
