D&D 3.x Fochlucan Lyrist's Unbound feature and Arcane Hierophant

IMO, the text I have bolded is key here. The "same armour restrictions as druids" is the same armour restrictions that Unbound modifies, so you're good. If you had another class that had a similar restriction but did not tie it back to the druid, then Unbound would not help. _ glass.

Pathfinder 1E how to reduce will save of an undead(incorporeal) creature?

OK, fair enough, sorry; I clicked the link to check there were no extra immunities or anything, but I did not read the full text of that ability. Of course, "as if the polong were under the effect of a dominate monster spell" means "not at all", but it is clearly intended to work, so let's...

Pathfinder 1E how to reduce will save of an undead(incorporeal) creature?

Undead are categorically immune to Wisdom Drain, but not Wisdom Damage. So if you can find a source of Wisdom Damage that does not specify a living target and does not fall foul of their other immunities (mind-affecting, disease, poison, anything with a fort save). Unfortunately I cannot think...

    D&D 3.x 3.5e : Energy Resistance, Vulnerability and such

No it doesn't. It takes an extra 10 damage if it fails the save. It takes an extra 5 points if it makes its save: The damage on a successful save is 10, and 10 extra damage on top of that would be 100% of that, not 50%. _ glass.

Commentary thread for that “Describe your game in five words” thread.

The PCs set off a trap which dumped a large quantity of alchemists fire on them, with a nastily-high DC to put it out. The noise attracted a bunch of stirges. Unfortunately, the high DC meant that the PCs (and the druid's animal companion) spent almost the whole fight on fire - only the...

Commentary thread for that “Describe your game in five words” thread.

My gaming schedule has got a little complex recently. Sundays are relatively simple; two campaigns (one as player, one as GM) alternating chapter by chapter. Thursdays are a little more complicated. We are doing both Shattered Star and Curse of the Crimson Thrones with groups that are mostly the...

    AD&D 2E Specialty Priests

I am pretty sure that Thought, Wards, and Time spheres were from the Tome of Magic which came out in 1991, which would account for their not being in FRA in 1990, so by my count that just leaves Necromantic. Since that sphere includes resurrection and its ilk, that's absence from FRA was...

The sunday-night game is only two players (with suitably upgraded PCs): One had a +2 bonus to diplomacy and the other had +8, so of course the one with the +2 did all the talking. Which is fair enough, these things happen from time to time - but with a small party like that I would never make a...

Which streaming services are you subscribed to?

That's true in the UK as well. TBH, I assumed it was true everywhere, but I just realised that that was an assumption and I do not know that for a fact. Anyway, I subscribe to that and Netflix at the moment. _ glass.

Following on from last week's wrapping up of CoC, we were back to Shattered Star. We teleported to outside a giant stockade, and the giants guarding it immediately moved to attack us before we could even say anything. This proved to be a mistake (could they not see we were PCs?) which is on...

    Rank the D&D 3.5 classes!

We use rope all the time, especially at low levels. What I have never done is fallen into a quarter-mile-deep pit without a save, so it took me a while to twig how rope was supposed to save you in this instance. Now that I see what you were getting at, but I remain unconvinced. Also...

    Rank the D&D 3.5 classes!

You still haven't explained how "has ranks in Use Rope" actually helps in any way with your contrived deathtrap, but even if it does you are severely overstating the likelihood of any given Rogue having ranks in it. 8+Int bonus is not all that many when they cannot afford much of an actual Int...

    Rank the D&D 3.5 classes!

Which round? IIRC it takes 3 rounds to fall a quarter mile. Are the casters guaranteed to have something to help? Of course not. Is that more likely that the Rogue randomly being roped to a fixed object during a fight? Absolutely. EDIT: And even if we pretend that ranks in Use Rope are a...
