[UPDATED] RAGE OF DEMONS! New D&D Storyline Features Drizzt, Underdark, & Demon Lords!

To be fair, I don't think that posters are assuming foolishness on the side of seasoned TTRPG adventure writers. Marketing Execs and other members of the corporate super-structure are another thing.

[UPDATED] RAGE OF DEMONS! New D&D Storyline Features Drizzt, Underdark, & Demon Lords!

I'm just thankful we got three major adventure paths so far (LMoP, HotDQ/RoT, and PotA) that were fairly Drizz't and Sword Coast light. I don't hate the character or region, but I do think they're overused. That being said, I will likely either play or run this module with friends, and enjoy the...

Unearthed Arcana Waterborne Adventures: New from Unearthed Arcana

    1) Love the fact that WoTC is putting out free stuff like this for the fan base. Feed me goodies like this, and I'll be loyal enough to happily buy any of the big ticket items that come out. 2) Love the fact that Wizards are concentrating on giving more options to each class, rather than making...

    D&D 5E (2014) What I'd Like To See Added to 5E - Weapon Comparison

In the interest of simplicity; -Plate-Armoured thingys have resistance to slashing and piercing, vulnerability to bludgeoning. There we go.

D&D 5E (2014) Dungeons and Dragons and the RPG Stigma

I honestly think it's becoming more mainstream. Not long after the PHB came out, I was in bar in downtown Ottawa, and overheard at least three separate conversations mentioning "5th edition" and "D&D". Granted, this was a trendy dive with a youthful clientele, but I'm not sure how much that...

D&D 5E (2014) Dungeons and Dragons and the RPG Stigma

Here's a relevant quote I want to pass along "Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish...

D&D 5E (2014) Dungeons and Dragons and the RPG Stigma

I think a lot of people just have stereotype quick notes embedded in their head, and file people accordingly. D&D is something that immediately connects with "weird guy in basement", I guess, and people aren't really great at dealing with cognitive dissonance. I'm a pretty traditional huntin'...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Large-Print Character Sheet

Not much to add, other than to say that this is pretty awesome. Glad to hear those guys and gals are still rolling dice, and that you're running a game for them. Good job, man!

    D&D 5E (2014) Evasive Footwork???

I would rule that it works for all the movement of that turn. When the PC ends their turn, the effect is effectively over. It's a nice little maneuver, too. Roll your SD, do an end run past a room full of undead minions, and sack the necromancer at the altar. Touchdown dance optional.

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemap Vs. Theater of the Mind

Have to weigh in on the battlemat side. I like a physical and visual representation of the action, and I like thinking about what terrain features I can use, and how. TotM works well for small encounters and for the build-up leading up to the fight, but it can get confusing pretty quickly...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D classic settings or new worlds to explore?

I'm solidly with the "Drag-and-Drop" crowd with this one. I'd really like to see articles describing regions, cities, even taverns that I can snatch up and use in any setting I choose (or homebrew).I've recently been tinkering with the Nentir Vale as an episodic adventure setting, and I'm amazed...

D&D 5E (2014) What do you want from an NPC list?

I think this is the best choice for me, too. It's not as detailed, but it makes things a lot easier and quicker. If I need a special NPC, I'll just stat up one of my spare PC's I have floating in my head.
