Haven't read the entire thread yet but honestly I'd really love a DnD animated show (that isn't Vox Machina). Something that is really high fantasy like LOTR but in the Forgotten Realms (or maybe better, whatever world 2024 DnD settles in so that the show would go hand in hand with any WoTC book...

So I don't know a thing about the DnD scene in Norfolk UK BUT I'm getting in here so I can see what the EnWorld veterans say about finding online games. This is something I've been super curious about.

Agree with this if the adventure leaves Menzoberranzan. But I think you HAVE to make this a city focused adventure (like you said in your post above) Is the outside world totally out of the question in a campaign like this??

Snagged the new Monster Manual, a mini and some paints a few weeks ago. Trying to get into the painting scene but instead I’ve just stared at the mini for the past 14-ish days.

Being very late to the TTRPG world D&D seems to have the most resources for getting INTO gaming. Between books, YouTube channels and stuff at the local game store it has the pieces available to welcome newer people into this hobby.

Just about done with book 2 in “The Dark Elf Trilogy”. Very excited to hear how this goes and see what your PC’s actually end up doing and how they navigate life in the Underdark.

This. For us old guys we got a lot of products (TTRPG, tv shows, books, etc. in the entertainment world) geared towards us in our youths that our parents thought were dumb. This is the cycle.

Haven't read all the posts but I don't mind this. I do feel like the MM has a TON packed into it. Plus, I'm excited for a Forgotten Realms Adventure's Guide. Sounds like a fun stand alone that I"m glad they didn't cram into the current books

I've really enjoyed the anthology books and would love one for 2024 rules. Don't know what old adventures they could bring back but I'd be cool with anything 2005 and older.

I have hit the age where "terrible" sounds nostalgic and nice. I don't know that I love this about myself right now but it's where I'm at 😅. Give me a good story and my old brain will put up with a lower budget show. And yes, I realize that this is a recipe for disaster for Netflix.
