D&D 5E (2014) Do we really need so many classes with Extra Attack?

Extra attacks are good, don't touch them. Warder

    D&D 5E (2014) No Cantrips Module

I don't have a problem with cantrips in general, but I realy dislike most of the attack cantrips. For me, a cantrip is a inor magic, easily mastered by some one who is dedicated to studying the Art and a stepping stone for more potent spells, but not something very powerfull on its own. Lets...

D&D 5E (2014) Things that make you want to buy 5E

Haven't read the entire thread but for me 5e as an all is simply a system that blend into the background during playtime, it's a feeling I didn't had since 2e and BD&D and in some ways it's better. Warder

Do you use henchmen in your D&D campaign?

As other have already said it's a matter of system, I haven't played AD&D, i moved from BCEMI directly to 2e and we never had a lot of incentive by the rules to hire henchmen, although they were there and we did hire some when we were higher level. when 3e rolled around we stopped having them...

Legends & Lore: The Sorcerer class

I'm sad to see that we won't be returning to the sorcerer we had in the playtest, that guy was awsome and interesting, having a sorcerer with sorcery points seems kinda meh, just make it a wizard subclass, why bother making it a class by it own? Warder

D&D 5E (2014) Character Concepts you cannot make in 5E

I can't play a Human Fighter, an Elven Wizard or a Halfling Rogue in 5e... guess i'll have to wait till it's released. Warder

    Dragonlance 30th Anniversary!

Dragonlance novels shaped my perception of what D&D adventure should be like. I wish they published the an updated war of the lance adventures for 5e, never had a chance to play them. Warder

Legends & Lore: Experience Points and Levels

I just hope we will get some recognition about how XP and advancement methods effect play style and different methods of gaining XP. Warder

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Encounters - Scourge of the Sword Coast play report (spoilers) - Complete!

Great write up! My main beef with the adventure is the lack of a decent hex overland map, especially if you want to use the wilderness travel rules, aside from that it seems like a pretty good D&D adventure. Warder

D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on Dreams of the Red Wizards: Scourge of the Sword Coast

I'm pretty sure that you got some guidelines in the DM document in the playtest packets... And even if you don't, just add a couple of monsters to each encounter. Warder

D&D 5E (2014) New Rule of Three is up for 31 Jan. 2014

The way I see it the main problem isn't about group checks or stealth checks it's about what the character is actually doing. Stealth can be either hide or move silently or both. It it stand to reason than a character that wears heavy and noisy armor won't be able to move around without being...

D&D 5E (2014) New Rule of Three is up for 31 Jan. 2014

    D&D 5E (2014) Wandering Monsters 01/29/2014:Level Advancement...

I have no idea why you think that we won't find any common ground, I agree with you completely! My (misunderstood) point was that I would rather have XP both for defeating monsters and getting treasure because I think that D&D is formost a dungeon exploration game and in my book XP from...

    D&D 5E (2014) Wandering Monsters 01/29/2014:Level Advancement...

I disagree, if you go by that way than the entire point of the game is killing things. Now that might be the ptefered playstyle of some but it's not universal, personaly I'd like to have XP for gold and monsters where you gain more XP through gold than killing things. Warder

    D&D 5E (2014) Wandering Monsters 01/29/2014:Level Advancement...

... or how many goblins it takes to reach the next level. http://www.wizards.com/DnD/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4wand/20140129 I voted for the 1e 2e rate of advancement but that because the true xp advancement comes from XP for gold rather than simply killing monsters, which is something I've been...

Legends & Lore: A Few Rules Updates

I dislike the passive perception in exploration, it takes us back to the days when DMs knew the passive perception scores of their players and while stocking their dungeons had to decide if the PCs will find the trap/hazard or not. I wouldn't mind if coupled with passive perception, the...

D&D 5E (2014) Tyranny of Dragons is Coming! - the next storyline

Well, after reading through all the press releases I'm intrigue, I'd love it if it were as epic as dragonlance, and I don't remember a dragon eccentric storyline in years (I might be mistaken here), I'm guessing that they decided that on the 40th anniversary on Dungeons & Dragons they should...

D&D 5E (2014) Tyranny of Dragons is Coming! - the next storyline

Figured I'd post it up before Steel will feel obliged to do so while telling us in several paragraphs why he don't have anything to say on the subject... Hey. We're better than that. Lets not get personal, guys. -- KM http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/dnd/tyrannyofdragons Warder

    D&D 5E (2014) Wandering "Monsters": Magic Items

I thought it was a very good article. Now, I might be too stupid, dense and/or unimaginative but I like having guidelines to fall upon, but heck I've only been DMing for 20 years so what do I know... Warder
