A novel way to destroy an artifact?

I think the greatest revenge, is to have the characters get wind that there will be an attack on the city. As they rush back to warn them, and come within sight of the city. They see that tidal wave coming in to destroy the entire lower half of the city, and realize this is their fault.

A novel way to destroy an artifact?

Does the Kraken summon a leviathan to destroy the city? Lol

A novel way to destroy an artifact?

I would be a little more creative. Since the artifact was cut in half, I would have the artifact possess the next creatures that touch each half and have them obsess on reattaching the pieces. Assuming th as t the other piece is no where to be found, I'd put it in the hands of a dangerous...

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

Counsel of Wyrms was a pretty dope concept. I used to have it and was preparing to run a campaign. The only thing that I didn't like about it, was they did nothing to scale the dragons' powers, which would've made it hard to get people to play certain dragons.

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

The 2 books they announced Dragon Hiest and DotMM will come out closer to the end of the year, maybe Sep and Nov. with the start of the new season. The other book, I have no idea, it could come out this summer, it could come out next spring, but I doubt it's going to come out in the seasons...

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

That could've worked for the Waterdeep books, the other one... the one, is different. Something new.

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

If I cared who believed me, you may be right. But the thing is, in the past, wizards have all the playtest material to all the groups, and leaks happened. They had no way of knowing where it came from. Recently, they stopped accepting new NDAs, started deleting current ones and started...

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

You can believe what you want. I couldn't care less. I don't have to lie to you, I don't know who you are either, and your approval isn't necessary.

Elminster's Guide to Deities and Avatars

The funny thing is, you all keep missing the point and essentially repeating what I keep saying. So let me put this in a context that you can understand. Demonlords are very tough fights when ran right, but usually winnable. It can be an unwinnable situation if fought on their plane in...

Elminster's Guide to Deities and Avatars

Here's the thing. I agree with your argument that a God or Avatar should be hard, but that does not justify the defense of broken abilities to the point where the fight is completely unwinnable. If you're going to make it impossible, you might as well not even bother with a template.

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

I already know what's coming out. I can't tell you because of legal reasons, and I'd like to continue being able to know things and play them. But I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, it's not Greyhawk.

    ‘Advanced’ Dungeons & Dragons

There would be nothing wrong with one off books, if they gave you then entire world in that book. Or at least enough to do more than just the area they give you. It's kind of like what they've done so far with 5e, besides Tomb of Annihilation, and Curse of Strald, all of 5e has taken place on...

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

You can cross Greyhawk out. They've moved so much stuff from GH to the Realms already, I don't see them putting them back.

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

So the way it seems to work is, a lot of times, classes and races will go to UA for play test, but the campaigns get shipped to the play-testers. Seeing that they announced both new books coming out, they must've shipped the modules at the same time to different groups (probably to weed out the...

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

I can say, you might be surprised in what's coming out. I'm not going to say anything more, except it's probably not going to be what you're thinking.

    ‘Advanced’ Dungeons & Dragons

Unfortunately that means the only setting for 5e will probably always be FR. If they put anything out for any other settings, they will probably be some one off book that's not going to really get supported

Half-Elf (Eladrin) Variant as per SCAG?

I didn't remember much about them because I had never bought Planescape, but I read the trilogy of novels and one of the major characters in it was a tiefling.

Half-Elf (Eladrin) Variant as per SCAG?

They were originally created in 2e planescape as fiend blooded humans, they didn't have any powers I don't believe. I never played 3e so I have no clue on how they evolved there. I came back into the game at the end of 4e and read how the original ones were those humans that made pacts with...

Half-Elf (Eladrin) Variant as per SCAG?

I read all the books on 5e, I'll usually get on forgotten realms wiki for more information. In the past I would read articles in dragon magazine. I even read a "domains of dread" adventure from 4th edition where one of the 1st noble families that struck the deal that created the 1st tieflings...
