Archdevil Moloch (Mordenkainen's tome of foes preview from Dragon+)

And I agree with you. Hell is not where he wants to go. There's one thing about Asmodeous that I find interesting. He never kills Archdevils. He will punish them by changing their forms. Modoch for example is interesting because of the term "banish" from Hell. He can enter and leave any...

Archdevil Moloch (Mordenkainen's tome of foes preview from Dragon+)

What do you mean "if" he can only be permanently killed in Hell, which is the one place he will never attempt to fight since every time he goes there he's turned into an imp.

If you average his HP out the proper way like you do PC HP, he should have 400HP. If you max it out the proper way, it should be 484.

Archdevil Moloch (Mordenkainen's tome of foes preview from Dragon+)

And to add on this, I like to play smart villains smart. Being he is a devil and master manipulator, you would never see him coming. We would join a fight from an ambush he set up that pits the party in another dangerous fight. Use his whip to pull party members away from others to isolate...

Archdevil Moloch (Mordenkainen's tome of foes preview from Dragon+)

The start of the fight, you lead off with breath of despair. Anyone who fails their save, drops their weapons and runs away. Say the barbarian drops his nice +3 great axe, guess what new weapon Moloch has. Tleports as legendary actions makes it impossible to pin him down. The 30' whip attack...

If I controlled him, your paladin would die a very horrible death. Lol

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

I see. What you're attempting is counterproductive and wasteful here's how: Say you're an 8 Warlock and 2 Sorcerer. You have 2 4th level slots (warlock) and 3 1st level slots plus 2 sorcery points. (sorcerer). Say you used your lvl 1 slots and your sorcery points and you're like ok I'll...

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

Yeah, I realized the trap when I thought about it. Lol

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

Why would he turn his warlock slots to level 1 slot? Yeah, I wouldn't allow that at my table. Lol

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

So with AoA, vs the fighter is, the fighter has better armor (heavy vs light), more HP, and usually more CON. The healing dice do help in a fight, but 2 things you have to remember, 1. 1d6 per die, no bonuses, so the healing is kind of weak. 2. They recover on a long rest not short. Trying to...

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

People don't under value Armor of Agythis. The purpose of that spell is basically the same as helping rebuke. It's not really to,protect you, even though it offers some level of protection with the temps it give, but rather to punish enemies for hitting you. It can be devastating to those...

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

They can't really tank. They can be melee DPS. Sort of like a melee rogue can. That's really the role you'll fill as a pact of the blade warlock.

Thoughts on Eldritch Knight Polearm Build

Because there's no such thing as ranged attacks?

Thoughts on Eldritch Knight Polearm Build

I'm not sure how much you've played in tier 3 or higher, but at this stage, monsters are usually either huge or bigger, have range, magic, or ranged attacks. There usually isn't an advantage of being 10ft. away from a lot of creatures.

Thoughts on Eldritch Knight Polearm Build

And this is why the idea of the spell's supposedly was given a 5ft range on purpose is stupid.

Thoughts on Eldritch Knight Polearm Build

But that assumes the target moves every time. But the more likely scenario would be the target moves 1 time, if it doesn't die, gets smart to the situation and stops moving assuming this is an intelligent creature. Or if it does die, its allies get smart to the situation and knows not to move...

    Celestial Pact Warlock--front line duty

I have a celestial warlock but not pact of the blade. I think it'll be as good as any other blade pact warlock. I wouldn't try and tank with it though. The healing dice is long range recharge, but cure wounds recharges.

Thoughts on Eldritch Knight Polearm Build

The major flaw in this? By the time this combo comes into fruition, you've played your character his whole career without it. Now it's, "Hey, I finally have a use for this cantrip I built my whole character around for the last 6 levels I'm probably won't even reach." LMAO

Thoughts on Eldritch Knight Polearm Build

It looks like he's adding the the extra d8s if they move when averaging the damage for BB, vs the the extra attacks.

How Involved Should The DM Be As A Warlock's Patron?

You know what. I think you should be involved as long as it adds value to the story. Actually, that's a powerful tool that can be used in your campaign to help the story along. If the players are taking too long or seem like they are lost, have the patron give the warlock an urgent quest...
