    The Monetization of D&D Play

Interesting. The store I play at never charged us to play, and it's a premier store at that, so we get all the books early. I'm also a play tester, so I get material before it's officially out and we play that in the store also. I have seen that the last Con I went to, they charged for a spot...

Why do people dislike the Zealot

Cursed, interesting. I like that. I think my barbarian will be cursed to fight forever until he can atone for a sin that angered the god.

Why do people dislike the Zealot

Even if they did die, Revivify costs nothi,g but a 3rd lvl slot.

Why do people dislike the Zealot

I like the class and actually just made one. I agree it is pretty strong, probably the strongest barbarian class since it doesn't have to fear death as much as the other subclasses. Especially once you get them to 15th level, they won't drop until combat is over.

I gave you a page number and a quote. Go back and read it was 1 post up from yours.

    D&D 5E (2014) Specters and Revivify

Actually I just posted an official stance. Also the minute starts as soon as the character dies, not when combat end. If the character dies and combat lasts more than 10 rounds afterwards, the spell automatically fails. I'm not sure why you mentioned a zombie, but going with that, a zombie...

    D&D 5E (2014) Specters and Revivify

Crawford uses a lot of house rules in his game, so you can't really take that as RAW. In any case PG 24 In the DMG on Bringing Back the Dead states in the 3rd Paragraph: "A soul can't be returned to life if it doesn't wish to be. A soul know the name, alignment, and patron deity of the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Specters and Revivify

This is not true at all. The soul always have a choice on whether or not they want to come back to life, and they know who is casting the spell. You cannot force anyone to come back, if you attempt it, and they choose not to, your components are consumed and the spell fails. Revivify does not...

    D&D 5E (2014) Specters and Revivify

No. You must cast Revivify within a minute after they have died. Saying that the party ran away means that no,ute would be up. You would have to find a cleric cast a raise dead on the body, and the target will have to want to come back to life. So while under the wraith's control, he will...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you rule switching weapons?

If someone is switching from a bow, or the sort to a 1h weapon, I always felt they can put it in their off-hand and draw their weapon, and of course put it away the next round, otherwise just drop your weapon and pull out the second one.

    The Readied Spell Abyss

I'm sure you read my second post that I created, after reading the rules again, since I was going to direct you to the page number, then realized my mistake.

    The Readied Spell Abyss

I didn't say it was released, I said it was wasted. The spell is consumed when you complete the casting. If you decide to hold the energy in your hand, that's at your peril. You're right, the rules don't overtly say until the end of the round, you still only get 1 action, and 1 reaction per...

    The Readied Spell Abyss

That's a lot of reading, and most of it is unnecessary. The problem with casting a spell and readying it as a reaction is, they have to release the spell by the end of the turn, or the spell is wasted. If the observer was a spell caster and understood what the cleric was doing, they wouldn't...

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

I'm pretty sure, if you read my complete thought, you would've gotten my answer. If there was something else you were looking for, clarify your question.

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

Before the warlock was created, the question was, if demonlords and other entities can grant powers to their followers without making them clerics, since a cleric really doesn't fit the theme. In comes the warlock. Essentially they both serve the same purpose, the difference is, only gods can...

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

You're looking at them from a,player perspective, not from the God's. The god gains nothing from this, and let's be real, what are you trying to gain from this that you can't gain taking the magic initiate feat?

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

Never heard of Mitra. The only thing I could find online was the pathfinder god of justice and the sun which doesn't fit the description on what you're talking about.

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

Mainly talking about in the FR setting, since it is the only official setting in D&D. If you want to make your gods weak to the point to justify a cleric/warlock multiclass in your world, that's on you. From a mechanical standpoint, I guess it can be good. For a paladin, it makes sense, not...
