Sure. I mostly experienced this with warlock players, who blow their two spells and then spam eldritch blast for the rest of the adventuring day (which can easily span multiple sessions). But I've noticed it in a couple other instances, as well. My players tend to rest only when the majority...

Yeah, I stole it from them. Which, I guess isn't technically stealing if you're running a 5E game.

Also, regarding short rest vs long rest classes, my house rule is to allow short rest powers to refresh between encounters OR to let players to get a number of uses per day equal to proficiency modifier. Otherwise short rest classes become really frustrating for their players.

I voted for 3. My combats are usually Deadly+ OR enemies come in waves OR both.
