Mörk Borg Ikhon: A How To Use Review

I agree—as a Kickstarter add on it made sense, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it as a stand alone produce

Mörk Borg Ikhon: A How To Use Review

I got this from backing one of the kickstarters. Except it was mis-printed, which made it even more confusing. They sent replacements, which were also mis-printed! So they sent another replacement, all of which must have been a huge cost for them.

Knave 2 from Ben of Questing Beast. Update: Backerkit store is open.

One of the best things about knave is that it is very lo-fi. It's cheap ($3), and you can easily print it out at home. Someone even did a 1 page version which was genius. And very hackable. Hopefully that remains the case with this KS, and we avoid the usual deluxe-cover-and-stretch-goals...

D&D General Games People Play: Looking at the Gaming Aspects of D&D

re: long term campaigns The idea of the "campaign" to my knowledge comes from the wargaming roots of the hobby. Gygax seemed to think of a campaign as such: Moreover, each session was probably longer, taking up the larger portion of an entire weekend day. This idea has survived in trad...

D&D General Games People Play: Looking at the Gaming Aspects of D&D

That's interesting, because for me BitD has quite a bit of structure via discrete mechanics; honestly it can be a lot to keep in mind at any one time. Perhaps the distinction is that those mechanics basically operate as a set of extensive qualitative guidelines. E.g. you have reduced position...

WotC D&D Creator Summit from a physical attendees perspective.

Yes, though for that reason they are not representative of the “community” of gamers. Reading Teos’s account plus the discourse on twitter, my take was that the summit was a group of people who were insiders, interested parties who think they help contribute to Wizard’s bottom line and want a...

    D&D 5E (2014) What Don't You Like About Dungeons?

A dungeon that I liked: Winter's Daughter by Necrotic Gnome Why I liked it: strong theme (star crossed lovers, faerie connections) holistic and interconnected environment (about 15 total rooms or spaces) combat possible but not necessary traps and social interactions that require skill but...

Planescape 5e Planescape- What would you like to see in the upcoming setting?

Honestly, I think trying to make a gazetteer of the outer planes is a fools erand. Even the "Planes of" boxed sets, while evocative in places, don't succeed on this account. The planes are infinite, and each contains several infinite (or at least gigantically large) layers. And yet, those...

Planescape 5e Planescape- What would you like to see in the upcoming setting?

Planescape has plenty of fun and whimsy to it as well. The videogame was very noir, but the setting material has a range of tones, with some elements being dark, some whimsical, some weird, and some all three. A lot of it is of a piece with classical faerie tales, actually. In fact, I think...
