D&D General No, Hasbro Is Not Selling D&D

Maybe you should reconsider. I follow some journalists that have to be on YT because they were unfairly kicked out of the radio and tv stations they used to work at. (The reasons why are outside the site's scope, but the whole situation isn't pretty)

Well, there's this guy who is basically Mexican Mr Beast, so not so much as only one... n_n

At this point I just follow Pointy hat. When something pops up that isn't Dungeoncrafting or Treantmonk, I just click "don't recommend this channel"

    Any chess players

I haven't played in a while because I have run out of opponents. Too good for casuals, not good enough for anybody who plays even remotely seriously. I'm stuck in a limbo.

Digital vs physical media which do you prefer?

This. I have some digital purchases, but as long as they are at most individually stamped pdfs or independent files, they are as good as if they came in a disc.

    Ai and generating an outcome

Human intelligence is quite different from Machine Learning. Machines lack free-will, desires and experiences. They cannot create novel ideas nor even internalize existing ideas. Training models are just a pure data derivative, at most a glorified -though quite sophisticated- sweat-off-the-brow...

    Ai and generating an outcome

That kind of reminded me of Atlanta Nights.

What are you reading in 2024?

I feel angry with past me for deliberately ignoring this book. I've had Understanding Comics and Making Comics for a while, but I didn't think I would find Reinventing Comics any useful, after all, it was all 200 pages about webcomics? I was already into them, and that was the part that...

What are you reading in 2024?

For my birthday I got Reinventing Comics by Scott McCloud. I'm still in the middle of it, but I can't believe how dumb I was in ignoring it thus far. It is very good actually. The only downside, since it was an impulse purchase, is that I bought a translation made in Spain, and Spanish...

    Terrible sequels

She gets sent to a relative -Dan Arkroyd, or was it the guy from Uncle Buck?- for the summer, meets a new guy who is a bit of a jerk with a heart of gold delinquent wannabe... I don't remember more.

    Terrible sequels

IMO, Spiderman 3 should have been two movies.

D&D 5E (2024) I'm a longtime player and there really is only one thing that will stop me from switching to 5.X

Not @wizard71, but I can say the latter because I share that opinion.

    Disney's disastrous year

I mentioned he was very good making money for himself and at selling his persona.

    Disney's disastrous year

A lot of luck and that he has the ability to make money for himself because he has money. He used to be very good at selling himself, by painting himself as a visionary, founder, and great businessman. He is very good playing the hype game and courting investors, but he is actually bad at...

    Disney's disastrous year

Like I said, $20 nets me ten prep-paid movie tickets. Not that I don't enjoy streaming, but my internet is just not there. I still use ADSL. The cost of fiber to support a 4k TV would be like $30 if not $50 a month.

    Disney's disastrous year

Everything is relative. Living in a third world country, movie going is quite affordable in comparison with a month of Netflix which is more expensive than what I pay for all other streaming services combined. I can get ten movie tickets for a little more than a month of Netflix!(ten simple or...

    Are Superhero films dying?

There is a grain of salt to go with this. Yes, early silver age Marvel was known for its groundedness and its relatability, but it didn't stay that way. I tell this as a middle of the pack millenial. Growing up in the nineties and the turn of the century, Marvel wasn't that relatable anymore. It...

Loki Season 2 Discussion - Spoilers

Wow. What have I just watched? I guess this is the last time we see Loki. Maybe Sylvie will get to join a future movie or series? In a way, I liked it.
