    Retrofuturism: Sandalpunk and Candlepunk

Thanks, guy. That answers some of my questions ^^ Anyone else?

    Retrofuturism: Sandalpunk and Candlepunk

So, recently, I’ve become quite interested in retrofuturism. I’m DMing a campaign about time-travel, and the subject seems fascinating. It’s amazing how many variants are there: Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Formicapunk, even Stonepunk… However, there are two of them that, even after a long Google...

    D&D 4E Building an Archivist in 4E

I don’t think giving up and going into re-skinning because the amount of work is too much can be called “rewarding”. Plus, I’m one of those persons that would be perfectly happy – I even prefer – if the game had, like, 30+ classes. In my game, the Warrior and the Fighter will be different classes :D

    I'm sick of Kickstarters

That is my main problem with crowdfunding: they should be nicer to post-campaign buyers. I almost never have all the money in the right time to the right system, so I can only wait. In this case, it’s a huge disadvantage for me.

    D&D 4E Building an Archivist in 4E

That’s one of the things I don’t like about 4e: creating a homebrew class is too much work. With simpler classes, this would be easier. But… I don’t think we need too much work to simulate an Archivist. I do not know where this class appeared or what it exactly is, but if you want to make a...

    I'm sick of Kickstarters

I simply don’t import RPG books anymore: it’s too expensive, and apparently Amazon isn’t shipping those books to Brazil. But I actually like PDFs. When it comes down to buying stuff in dollars, I usually wait the PDF release in online stores such as DriveThruRPG. I’ll not have the same amount of...

Speculation about "the feelz" of D&D 4th Edition

Well, I’m no lawyer but, as far as I know, you could “clone” 4e; but, in order to do that, you actually need to create your own system that looks like 4e. It’s a great amount of work just for a clone, especially when the original wasn’t received with golden crowns by its fanbase, so to speak...

    New Class idea: Demigod class

I’m quite late to the party here, but let me express my opinion: Dealing with this label in D&D is hard because, in pre-4e editions, Demigods are full gods, which were pretty weak compared to others, but still “full-gods” instead of “half-gods”. I know the latter is more common to modern...

Speculation about "the feelz" of D&D 4th Edition

I’m a little insane, so that may explain it. 1e and 3e? Not as much as 4e by a large margin. Well, 3e had stuff happening which would really need a grid, but this isn’t solely about grids. It does involve area effects and positioning, but this is not the only thing. It is also about how...

Speculation about "the feelz" of D&D 4th Edition

Not trying to start a flame war here, but at some time ago, I figured out a big difference between D&D 4e and “classic” D&D: You know when people told about how 4e was an MMORPG? Well, 4e is, by no means, a video-game. However, if you start to compare electronic RPG genres with D&D editions, you...

    I'm sick of Kickstarters

Wait… Did this actually happen? So, let be recorded that on this day, March 9 of 2017, an internet user nicknamed @Lorrdyn changed his or her mind on an online discussion at EnWorld, an internet forum! That is one of the rare moments someone changes his/her mind on internet. That calls for a...

Classic D&D of All Eras Back In Print

I understand that. I also understand that other editions need attention too. However, if someone from WotC is reading here: I still need the Barbarian's Handbook. With time travel, this is a necessity. But the amount of setting material is gorgeous, already; it's just that more of them is a bonus.

    Slaves/Peasents :)

Is slavery common in the game-world? Is the party "good-aligned"? That may shape this case. Also remember that, according to popular wisdow, slavery can be a quite problematic thing, easy to start fights.

Classic D&D of All Eras Back In Print

I think there's still a lot of setting material and adventures to be released. Plus, I've been waiting for quite some time the book PHBR14 The Complete Barbarian's Handbook; still unreleased, it will be very important to my campaign.

    CONAN Is Finally Here!

Well, I understand the polemic involving meta-game mechanics, but what I’m interested is: is the game good, as in good at emulating the good-old Sword & Sorcery genre? Or did it step somewhat away from that?

Two weapon fighting & strength bonus

In my table, I have a simple rule: While you gain the benefits of TWF, the maximum strength bonus for damage is +2. I'm assuming that characters won't go much further than exceptional strength. Similar rules exist for throwing weapons.

D&D 5E (2014) Blind People Get Dogs or Sticks: What Do You Give A Mute Spellcaster?

Well, if the character is ultimately hampered by this trait, then the PC should have a bonus to compensate that. Keep in mind that, just as some special schools in AD&D 2e, there could be changes to methods of casting spells. The fact that the PC is mute is already going to hamper him greatly in...

    CONAN Is Finally Here!

That actually gave me some interesting information about the game. Thanks! On the other side, the whole vigor + wounds seems a little more complicated than just HP, but more realist and granular. Not sure if that's good or bad.

    CONAN Is Finally Here!

I'm quite on the fence regarding meta-game mechanics. Some I like, others I hate. For example, I'm ok with 13th Age's meta-game mechanics, but I hated D&D 5e's inspiration mechanic. I don't quite know why. With that said, is the game good? Does the game simulates the old Sword & Sorcery genre...
