    You mean like Underworld?

Does Your Group Allow Homebrew or 3PP Material for D&D Games?

Agreed on this. Maze of the Blue Medusa and A Red and Pleasant Land (both easily converted to 5e) are quite excellent.

D&D 5E (2014) What official material is considered problematic to the point where it is not balanced and presents a problem?

Instead of banning it, insert a few anti-magic zones that dispel the eye, or add in some creatures that can dispel (and when they do, it winks out of existence and the caster cannot figure out what happened without a difficult arcana check). Alternatively, have the eye malfunction without the...

    D&D 5E (2014) I want to play as a LionFolk in 5e

Southlands Heroes for 5E by Kobold Press has a werelion playable race. Not completely the same but still much closer than anything else.

D&D 5E (2014) Wanting more content doesn't always equate to wanting tons of splat options so please stop.

I agree with you completely on this. Bundling new bits of crunch in the APs doesn't work well for a lot of people. I personally loathe the Forgotten Realms in their current form and I found the APs, with the exception of Strahd, to be very disappointing. It would have been nice if there were...

D&D 5E (2014) Wanting more content doesn't always equate to wanting tons of splat options so please stop.

Glad someone gets it. This is exactly what is supposed to happen! And honestly, the creatures in the Fifth Edition Foes by Necromancer Games and Tome of Beasts by Kobold Press are much more interesting and well constructed than those in the book with the official WotC Golden Seal of Approval...

Does Your Group Allow Homebrew or 3PP Material for D&D Games?

Cross-posting from that "other" thread because it is applicable to a lot of the back and forth here too. That and I didn't want to retype and reword after reading 33 pages worth or stuff...

D&D 5E (2014) Wanting more content doesn't always equate to wanting tons of splat options so please stop.

Two hours and 33 pages later.. I see a lot of inflexibility, fear of creativity, hyperfocus on balance, and apples to oranges comparisons. Comparing current 3PP offerings from the established 3PP houses to anything from 3E is a bad idea. 3E, by nature of the system (focus on superhero instead...

Does Your Group Allow Homebrew or 3PP Material for D&D Games?

Pretty sure that sound we all hear is EGG going apoplectic in his grave at some of the attitudes towards modifications of a set of guidelines. That yelp of pain? That was Chris Perkins having his soul burned by official stamps of approval.

RPG Crowdfunding News 020 : Ki Khanga, Demon Cults & Secret Societies, Swords & Wizardry, Apocalypse

Tranquilis: I asked Stacy what the cover design was representative of. It is intended to be an abstract piece that very generally represents the skeleton of a great evil that still has bloody parts attached and has thorny vines erupting from its eye sockets. There are also death moths...

RPG Crowdfunding News 020 : Ki Khanga, Demon Cults & Secret Societies, Swords & Wizardry, Apocalypse

It is worth noting that the 3rd printing of Swords & Wizardry was designed and crafted by an all female team, headed by Stacy Dellorfano, who founded and runs Contessa. Additionally, all the amazing and awe-inspiring art is the product of some very talented female artists while the two new...

    Fifth Edition Foes Monster Book

Sorry to necro the necro, but will FG eventually have this bigger FGG products (Slumbering Tsar, Rappan Athuk, etc) converted? Bill had said you all have access to their whole library, and I'm sure it is just a matter of time, and given that those would be huge conversions that would take a...

Roman-Themed Living Arcanis Organised Play Campaign For 5E

Neat - I will definitely be giving this a read. Thanks for sharing it! I backed the Reforged Kickstarter and look forward to seeing the tie-in between some of the magic items and the story once both are released.

D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

So excited for this! WotC opening up 5E via OGL was a fantastic move because it enables things like this. Can't wait to see what other awesome stuff hits the gaming world because of that.
